Interesting.

The system should make Glenunga be way more over than that though IMO.

Bourke, Smith and Roberst worth 1 each now so 3 points gone

Nurton, Foley, Karvelis, Buss all worth 2 so thats 8 points

8 + 3= 11

unless these blokes have some extra points I dont know about??

Plus Karvelis brother (another 2 points), 2 X Newchurch's and Smiths brother carry over a point from last year. That makes 16 points that we know off. Couple of them MAY have to play Bs during the year.

Are Luke Cooper and his giant shorts playing for Glenunga again next season?

Apps is all way too confusing imo (mostly because interpretations are changing daily!) I know one thing for sure...I am 0 points with all the interpretations I have read! I did not play at all in 09 as had year off with the Roys, and was with Glenunga last year.

I agree with the basic concept APPS is trying to achieve. I don't believe it should be able to act retrospectively however and believe it should only effect anything AFTER its inception.

Side note...so anyone can play B Grade?...Wes Legrand may get a run for his money a lil more often in the future?

Absolutely agree.

How far do we go back?

Should we relegate Brahma Lodge back down and strip all their mercenaries away as well?

You might be worth 1 in 2011. You only drop straight to 0 if you have two years off, in 2009 you still would've been considered a Fitzroy player, I think.

They'll get injuries and things along the way, so as long as their A Grade side is under 15 each week, who else needs to care how many points are in their squad? That's Glenunga's problem, but it seems like they're copping a lot of undue bashing for trying to improve their club's position. They're doing it legally, so nobody else should be complaining.

i believe all players that were signed in 2009 from another amateur club will be 0 points not whatever minus 1. but points will still apply for any player recruited outside the amateur league in 2009.

which means guys like bourke will be 0 points not 2 minus 1.

Double P, were you at both meetings in relation to the points system? I was and I can assure that if a player was signed at the end of 2009 from within the SAAFL then this would attract 1 point. Chad in 2010 will be 0 points.

Well Glenunga had an un-official catch up to meet the new B grade coach, have a kick and a catch, play a bit of cricket, meet some of the new fella's and take care of our AGM.

Decent numbers considering we don't officially start until 14th

Was not at the meeting. i believe any player who played last year should not count regardless. they have bought in the new system this year so why should clubs be punished for last year recruits.

i believe a few clubs in the higher grades are in trouble because last year they were up near the 15 points and have already recruited a few players which is putting them over.

Why do we play the minor rounds with 3 on the bench then increase it to 4 during finals?

Why not keep it at 3 or increase it for entire season.

Not sure how true this is but I was told yesterday that Nth Pines have appointed Eastern Parks B or C grade coach from last season (not sure of his name) and will be nominating 2 sides for 2011. The new coach is expecting to take a few with him is what I was told. All the best too him and good luck. God knows he will need it.

I heard 2 guys from Paralowie have gone across to coach North Pines A's & B's?

Hypothetical if North Pines & Wingfield do get 2 teams up & running who comes out of div 7? Bit tough on TTG & Modbury (last 2 to come in) especially if they wanted to remain in the div as both performed quite well last year.

Then 2012 Ovies will get 2 sides up and running again and we'll have more issues! Maybe it's better for some clubs to stay with 1 side to keep comps even... ;-)

this can probably allow the league to get a div 8 up and going where its just C & D grade teams playing each other. there is talk about this every year but it never happens the main reason why it doesn't happen i believe it leaves div 7 short.

if you add nth pines and wingfield to div 7 i think that leaves 8 teams minus the c grade teams.

has any heard any talk about a C & D grade comp this year? because i heard henley were trying to push it and had other clubs backing.

Mawson Lakes Football Club has come off a successful recruiting spree at the Adelaide Oval Test Match. Coach Geoff Riddle was signing anyone and everyone to keep up against his Glenunga counterpart Chad Bourke. Gladstone Small was the first to put pen to paper and will be a handy addition at Full Back. Jimmy Saville was the next to sign and was reluctant to take off the Red and White of the St.George's cross, but after agreeing to a few free beers, will wear Black & Gold in 2011. The final signing was that of Ian Chappell which came with a condition that Glenunga must sign Ian Botham for the 'Blockbusters' between the 2 clubs for 2011. These signings were in better shape than that of new recruit Brenton Reidy who was caught having a conversation with a stobey pole after the first days play.

These recruits plus others will be at the next MLFC show with a Family Xmas BBQ held at Civic Park from 1pm this Sunday 12th December. All current, past and new players are welcome. ;)
