Are you kidding me!!! That was your finest hour DA... The funniest thing I have ever seen! You ran out in front of a bus full of Primary School aged girls and then fell over in the middle of the road, before thrusting your pelvis at a shocked parent. PURE GOLD. There were 3 cop cars at the Craf within the minute!!!

I work in Murray bridge and as a result follow there league a little. Have heard that Muffy is a great player, not to mention quick. Other than that Tailem struggled last year so cant see how players from there can make a huge difference in the hills, which i am lead to believe is a better league.

Ronnie

2words is saying that Hills is a better league than Murray, and that Tailem struggled in Murray league. So he's saying that recruiting players from a struggling club in a lower league isn't that smart.

Will be interesting to see if the new IB players make a diff. This Muffy character sounds like he could be pretty good. I'm sure IB don't want the situation like shanty has had for ages paying for players who are no better than their home grown talent.

sorry da miss read. good call re shanty paid players but there have been some good players. look at snowy and in more recent times bentley and butchard who have got some of their friends out to come and play in 2007.
ironbank have picked up a few players but no real big names that i have heard of before. interesting to see how good the players are from southern seeming they claim there a better league than hills.
so how many new sigs lofty have at moment. only conf i heard of yet is peto! also fleet has pretty well pulled pin on footy this year. will take a good talker to get him back into it if you can ec=ver get a hold of him!

One gun player Shanty had last year is that bloke with the long curley dark bron hair. He's pretty skinny, but he's hard as nails. Borderline dirty, but I rekon he went OK. Who is that bloke? Is he still around this year?

Dunno about Devils recruits. I'm out of the loop since I busted my leg. (And also why I've been talking so much absolute sh!te!)

That sucks about Fleety. He's a dead-set gun. Can't see Mado being the one to convince him to come out either. Even to play in the super B's - Mado wouldn't want to lose his spot in the team!!!

Then again, maybe I can take fleety under my arm and get him loose on the balcony. He doesn;t mind getting in peoples faces!

Yep, Muffy is a gun but I have heard that even though he has signed he is still only 80% sure of going to IB. Will be interesting to see what happens.

HFL div 1 is better than River Murray. RM has really dropped off in depth over the last 10 years. The top 2-3 sides are still pretty good but it really drops off from there. Mt Lofty would beat Jervois by a few 3-5 goals IMHO.

It is hard to tell what the better sides are. in RM the ovals are alot bigger flater and harder. and they seem to play alot faster footy. whereas hills ovals are smaller and 90% of the time on the side of a hill with knee high grass. so it will be good to see the trial between jervoice and the dev's. we will see.
the only player for shanty who looked thretening was that shep bloke. but most of the time he was walkabout so it didnt change the game much. but for 5 min a game he was on.

Have I missed something? Are the Devs playing Jervios in a preseason game? If so, when?

And, who is shep? what does he look like? Is he the same bloke I described earlier?

yeah shep is the bloke da u were talking about. he is a dead set idiot. going up to play in the riverland or something this year. would dominate a game for 5 minutes but wouldn't be seen for the rest of the game. spent jnrs at westies and came up with mueret and played a grade as a 15 yr old and was very good but has gone of the rails in last few years. would not trust the bloke as far as you could throw him! bentley dominated against lofty in the 2 games last year and even your own players admitted that!
doubt fleety will join you, u will need to remove him from the big blonde thumb first!

Classic. I thought Fleety was getting a bald spot. The thumb explains it!

Is Bentley the bloke that made the HFL team of the year?

Hey, I may be just a Hills Country contributor 'n all but there's gotta be something better to discuss than who's in who.................

Couldn't agree more. I read this forum occasionally for Hills news, but the last 10 pages or so are 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back again. A hell of a lot of utter garbage on there that belongs in the same bin. If you can't write something vaguely sensible, don't post. Some of you may find that sort of in-joke funny, but there ain't much funny about it, and it doesn't add to your reputations.

I've got a word that sums up both of you......ballbags!

Seriously, it's Feb. There's bugger all to talk about on the footy scene other than 'I saw some player from some other club at the pub and he said his club has recruited an AFL side'.

And you two have just added more space to this thread without contributing anything about footy at all. If you're going to have a crack at aus about getting off topic, but not put anything repotely footy related up, then why waste your own, and infinately more importantly, our time in putting this crap up.

Sure the last 10 pages have some garbage in them, but take it on it's merits. We've got bugger all else to discuss, so if you want the quality of discussion to increase, then put some new info up that's worth discussing.

Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the stupidity. I'm sure you could both think of a funny joke to hang on Bridgewater. Got anything Ron?

Sorry I've taken so long to reply D.A. All my posts apart from the last one have been footy related. I'm one of the few from Hills Country who contribute. Maybe you skim over anything from that direction. Read back. Not gonna argue with you further.

Fair enough. If you've got something footy related to post, then put it up, I'll read it and reply if I have something to say on the matter. Do you have any news from Nairne? I've got a cousin who plays there, so I am interested in how they go.

However, if you just get in my face for all the dribble I write, then obviously I'm going to bite back.

Play on though and bring on the '07 footy season!
