Echunga AGM was last night. Hearing reports that the president got kicked out and a local voted in, can anyone confirm?
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Yes can confirm that Kym Pocock was VOTED in last night, and Peter Weydling has stepped aside from a comittee involvement. Also on the night Ian Tregoning was voted in as VP, Danniel munn as treasurer and secretary to be filled by the incoming comittee. Mike rigby has returned to comittee and nicholas sheehan was added to the comittee.
It was said that the coaching position was very close to finalised and an anouncment will be made soon.

Was speaking to a Birdwood player on the weekend and he had heard that his club may spend around 70-80k next year, with the majority of that going to 4 or 5 players. The latest offer is $800 a game to former centrals player Adam Switala. Seems some of the local lads aren't too happy with a couple of guys from out of town coming in and running the show too and may follow mates that jumped off last year!

Does Gary Hughes have a connection with Birdwood? Or do they get their money from selling candy to the High School students? Either way they're the money men of Hills Country.

Which ex Lofty bloke got the Echunga gig? Was it Scott Madsen? Does Joey Whyatt still have the B grade gig out there?

Find this rumor very hard to believe PF. For one the only people who would know how much Birdwood are paying would be coaches and the committee and secondly why would they share that information around.

Well I think everyone knows McGahey and Krieg aren't at Rooster Land for Chicken Feed so that wouldn't surprise me.

Have Kangarilla found a coach and do they expect to spend another year out of the finals?

Do you seriously think clubs payments to players are always kept in house? c'mon sure they can be exagerated at times but word gets around. I'm sure Birdwood have gained some good players but i think they may struggle for depth but i guess time will tell.

Played with Scott during his time in the Riverland (if it is the same guy - bigger guy - played at Full Forward) didn't realise he was coaching material. Has he coached before. Good Luck to him.

Thats a massive amount of coin to be splashing around in Country Div if indeed it is true. Would be twice as much as any other club in the league. Surely though, if they had the money theyd have spent it last year when they knew their survival in Central was at stake. Find it very hard to believe although I will agree on the point that alot of player payments do get found out in one way or another.

So twice as much as Gum they would be the second biggest spenders in the comp.

Well that might be the case, it might not be but I can tell you with the utmost certainty that we are not spending anywhere near that kind of money.

Sounds like the same bloke, apparently he is a tall guy, what was he like as a player, and a team mate? would be interesting to have a bit of insight to his playing days

if gum were spending 40 grand a year on players they wouldn't be able to get through half a season...
they just dont have to resources to get that kind of money. they would be lucky to make that much in a year before exspenses.
