I judge cricketers on there next game, not a big fan of stats and wouldnt have a clue of my stats... your only as good as your next game, last weeks months years games mean nothing if you cant perform in the next game...

That's just a cliche mate, so Steve Waugh is crap because if he plays tomorrow he'll probably score sweet f.a? there comes a time where you think you can play on and be a number because you used to be good or you can bow out on a graceful note and allow a younger player the opportunity to take your spot.

I also should of added that stats prob should be looked at after retirement, thats when they count.. I am talking for myself here as i dont care what i made last week or last year, what is important is the next week to me. Sure its good to take confidence out of your last game into the next but as far as adding up the years stats before the year is out is a waste of time IMO..

That makes more sense big fella, I agree with you there, history is history.

Some good points there that i would agree with as well.

There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

That's not a stat

Here's a stat...in the last 4 victories that the Lodge have had over R & C, Sibbick has scored 296 runs at an average of 148 with 4 50's (98, 88 n.o, 52 and 58 n.o). In the 2 losses last year, he got 0 and 26.

I think the boys will go ok on Sat, if they get through the first 15-20 in good shape they'll bring home the choccies.

Sorry to rain on your parade but was jimmy bowling to him in those 4 games? Could come down to jim v sibb? I will load up on sibb caught behind early ;)

Surprise, surprise............Catchit riding the Jimmy train!

Below is the By-Law that they will be discussing SUnday. Looks spot on to me!
B23. Fielding Restrictions and the Placement of Fielders
(1) Two semi-circles are drawn on the field of play. The semi-circles have as their centres the middle stump at either end of the pitch. The radius of each of the semi-circles is 25 metres. The ends of each semi-circle are joined to the other by a straight line drawn on the field on the same side of the pitch (to complete an oval shape)
(2) At the instant of delivery there shall not be more than five Fielders on the leg side.
(3) For the first 10 overs only of each innings, only two Fielders are permitted to be outside the fielding restriction circle.
(4) For the remaining overs of each innings only five Fielders are permitted to be outside the fielding circle at the moment of delivery.
(5) There shall be no requirement for stationary fielders.

take out 2 as that is crap
so you can have 9 on the off side if you want but are restricted to only 5 on the on side - what is that rule even trying to acheive

cant see to many captains instructing to bowl on leg stump especially considering it willbe a wide if it goes down leg side

I agree, that is silly but will take it if it gives us fielding restrictions...

i always thought the standard rule was no more than 6 on the leg side and that that applied to all levels of cricket , as i found out as an U/16 captain and later in a grade district but 5 seems a bit to far surely we can allow 6 on legs so as to encourage some offside play , its not like everyone in pdca hits to cow corner , just the majority

and also if u have 6 on leg side and u try to bowl a leg stump line then the leg side wide being strictly enforced , at least at official umped games, will keep this in check

I agree it's a silly rule, but how often would you have more than five fielders on the leg side? Even if a batsman was always looking to go leg side, surely the bowler would be putting it well outside off stump to force the batsman to play across the line.
