GG started pre-season on Monday night with a fairly good turnout considering the weather. Plenty of new faces.... Do it all again tonight...

how many did numbers did you have out mate, im hearing nothing but good things about GG so will be interesting to see how use will go after leap frogging through the grades

Why do i get the impression your not a affiliated with seaton but are infact from Port Districts,
from what i can gather Ricky is a well liked man i get along with him quite well and obviously the players at districts did to other wise why else would they be following him to Portland

When we did it no one had their hands on the recording so we used a whistle as when you had to make it
Still with that was bloody hard but obviously not accurate.

Would have been around 50 or 60 I guess. A little down from previous years but still a decent start.
Will be a very interesting year for us I think... A huge challenge ahead !!

Newmans gone pretty quiet since he opened up weeks ago, surely he has some news.

Only 1 Agrade player at the AGM on sunday which was very ordinary, that was this years captain.

To tell you the truth everything very quiet on our front. Since Hodges did the bolt we have lost a few players a few important players but so has every club by the sound of things. 1 A grader at the AGM No Mercy isnt out of the ordinary and you would know that so not sure what the relevance of that post was!!

Showing some interest in your club is important, i think it proves from a clubs perspective that they ( the players ) just don't give a sh!t.

Well it also takes us the players to run a club as well. And as least we are sticking around this year instead of running and hiding. You have a go at Newman, but at least he is willing to have a crack when the times are tough and to put his hand up and be counted. You call yourself a Seaton man through and through but i think that is a load of bulldust. If you were you would stick around and help the young lads which are the future of the club. The blokes that have left were cancerous and you didnt have the balls to do anything about them throughout the year. Then you leave cause you are embarrassed that after being relegated we couldnt make the finals when we were touted as prem favs. We dont need people like you commenting and or being around the club. We have been a powerhouse before and we will be again just as soon as we rid ourselves of leeches like yourself

Ah, pre season has started and already ten pages of Portland back-slapping to sift through! I don't think its a case of them big-noting themselves - theres jsut so many of you lot on here!

Couple:
- Few things still making it very difficult to get St Micks first 18 players to SMOSH - doesn't help that the First 18 coach is a FPFC man.. buts if he's successful at the College good on him, just disappointing to miss out on some good kids from our POV. It's not a case of promoting flinders park, so much as NOT promoting SMOSH - which is the right thign to do IMO. They are definately opening the chequebook though, and a few existing players are talking premierships in november!
- Big wraps on Portland round the traps. Prior a massive pick up. Watched the div 6 GF, and I think Vessali will be ebtter then jsut a back up for perkins. V good player. As much as a i lvoe beating them, i admire Portland as a footy club - they work hard to get results (well at least in teh alst 3-4 years) and keep good people.
- 60 players at GG training in november? Inflationary tactics?
- Gonna stick my neck out and call para Hills as the team to beat. When they're on, they're a bloody good side, jsut a matter of how they play away from the paddocks/keeping their discipline on the field.
- wondering who is fronting up for Seaton this year. All the blokes I knew out there have left? Hopefully some of the young blokes in their b grade premiership will make the step up. Never good tos ee an exodus liek that from a proud club.

AS for SMOSH, numbers improving in week 3 of pre season. Contrary to ealier Posts, Fraser/Tomeo did not go for assistant coaching roles - Mick will continue the fantastic job he did as B grade coach last year, and hopefuilly we'll see a lot of the younger lads that he promoted through the season step up and play A grade. Frase is running s a lto of the pre-season fitness stuff along with another fitness machine and working us rpetty hard. Gigs has been fantastic so far - bring a lot of familiarity to the 7 or 8 u/18's who are stepping up to senior footy this year which can only be a good thing.

Minners will no doubt have a plan to tag D leonard when we play Portland. No leonard, no Portland they're saying!

all seems pretty smack on. How is Robbie Fraser going, from my very few incounters with him seems like a great bloke and a bloody good footballer is there any positive news about his injury.

i really agree with you about Para Hills even last year when they had a bit of a poor year, i still thought they had good enough players to beat anyone it was just a matter of weather they brought there A game or not.
they still have the best forward line in div 3 with Flynn Sinodinos as close to the best player in div 3 IMO

Im pretty sure you think your the best player in Div 3 piccachu. How have all the boys taken to Pearcey? He's a great coach and I think he will do good things out at Portland. Has S. Hinsley graced the training track yet ?

Pretty comprehensive there Turbo, some valid points. From an FPFC view though, there is definately no talk of a premiership this early.

There is certainly a positive feel but that is to be expected. Some good recruiting combined with not losing any players of note and coming down a division has certainly changed the atmosphere. I think the boys are looking forward to some Western Suburbs rivalry aswell. Has been a while since FP, Portland, Seaton and SMOSH have been in the same comp. Talking to a lot of the SMOSH boys at the recent fundraiser between the two clubs, there certainly is a buzz about the rivalry this year.

As for the comments about the SMC 1st XVIII, i think it basically comes down to where you play your Junior footy. I don't think its the SMC coaches role to promote SMOSH as an option after year 12, thats probably the responsibility of the SMOSH footy club. I know there was certainly no contact made with most of the SMC boys at Flinders after they finished their schooling, and you can't really blame players for going back to their junior clubs.
