At Port Pirie:

Clare Combined beat Wandearah in Game 1. Clare needed 7 to win from the last over chasing 125 I think. Got the win off the last ball. Ben Johnson smashed the Wandearah pace battery to all parts of Port Oval apparently.

Stansbury beat Port Lincoln's SES in game two.

Stansbury won the final against Clare Combined quite comfortably. I think Clare's Ben Johnson hurt his groin during the game which affected his performance but Stansbury deserved winners. Seemed like a very close and well drilled team.

But think the comp should get Lobethal to play Meadows and be done with it, as they would be the strongest Country Cricket teams by a long way.

Hopefully there is a couple of surprises in there Jugs. ;)

Well it doesn't look like there have been any surprises. Meadows will smash whoever they play.

So Meadows confirm that the HCA is probably the best country comp in the state, and all on hard wickets!

I think that has a lot more to do with population base than anything else. If Berri were at full strength that final would have been interesting.

Sorry if this sounds wrong but this post reads as the final has been played ??
How can it have to do with population base ? Meadows would have less population to draw from than Berri i would think , added to that Meadows also have to compete with surrounding areas ( Macclesfield.Kangerilla,Clarendon,Echunga,Mylor,Ashbourne,Hahndorf, and Strath) just to name a few i wouldnt think that Berri would have that sort of competion for players ???

Sorry that would be the semi final.
I meant population base across the association area not meadows specifically.

From what I was told on the weekend, final to be played at Adelaide Oval, no idea when. Can anyone enlighten us as to any ex Grade players that grace the lovely Meadows team. I know that Stansbury have Bernie Vince, James Moss and Sam Agnew who played or are playing Grade cricket.

AND, is the final between Meadows and Stansbury???????????

Early Feb is the final on AO I think, Meadows only have Tarque Williamson who has played grad cricket, even played some 2nd XI state cricket I think. But have about 3-4 blokes who could/should play grade cricket, would walk into B grade level minimum easily.

Final is on Feb 6, the Sunday after the country carnival. Stansbury vs meadows.

Stansbury are a handy side-well coached by Adam pitt who's also played cricket at west torrens and represented sa country.

Should be a good final with some handy players for both sides.
