After the experience with Eagle Boys last night, I whinged to a work colleague today, and finished my story just as I was approached by a customer...

Everything was nice as pie, going swimmingly...

When I asked what name to put their purchase under...?

"Eagle Boys Pizza. And I heard what you said."

Whoops... New boss didn't like that one!

Show some bloody consideration and obey the road laws!!!!

Never ceases to amaze me how some cyclists, on one hand, expect and demand the same rights as motorists, but on the other hand, refuse to follow the same road rules. Stopping at a pedestrian crossing is a common one, a percentage still ride straight through and hurl abuse at pedestrians crossing with green lights.

The cyclists have probably looked around them and seen many motorists speeding, tailgating, running red lights, driving when talking on their mobile phone etc. etc. etc. and thought "stuff this almost everyone else is breaking the law why shouldn't I?"

Of course the motorists breaking these road rules present a far far greater danger to the community than cyclists due to their greater speed and weight.

I get that motorists are as much a pest & more of a danger on the road than cyclists fish, but i am more peturbed by the Saturday morning wannabe Lance Armstrongs & their 6 wide groups than the poor cyclist trying to get to work without getting killed.
These yuppies are probably more of a danger in a car as well.

Travelling on the Kangarilla to McLaren Vale road on mornings where a group would conduct "Race Mornings" - where the road was fully open to all traffic - became such a hazard, due to cyclists that absolutely and utterly would NOT follow road rules, that I know of at least one financial supporter that was going to withdraw their sponsorship, after being told the same stories, time and again, by many different people, of the conduct of a percentage - NOT all - of the cyclist group.

Riding five abreast, and when a car would try to overtake, one of the group would swing wider to prevent them; cyclists abusing drivers verbally and hitting slow moving cars; riding in front of cars at such a slow rate and laughing to each other about doing so. Certainly, many cyclists are out there to do the right thing and there should absolutely be a "Share The Road" philosophy - but this cuts both ways also and it is not completely the responsibility of the car/vehicle driver to do all the right things, while a percentage of cyclists take the attitude that "Share the road" means "Give over all control to cyclists".

Living at North Haven, there is always people riding along the esplanade between outer harbour and semaphore.
Sometimes it absolutely drives ya crazy, on a single lane road, rider 3 abreast, Im all for riding on the road, I have a road bike and ride it sometimes but why cant they ride in a line meaning cars can safely pass??
they just plod along and chat while riding nice and slow.

Now if I see a big group blocking the road I get in front of them and slow down to about 5km an hour. Especially if there racing it drives them crazy!!

What I say though is f**k them. They slow me down, ill ruin ya race!!
get on board the thunder train!!!

I've started getting out on my bike again and I've had no problems with cars, etc (touch wood). I'm with everyone who's annoyed when it comes to "groups of cyclists" taking up half the road. It's a shit attitude on their behalf and gives cyclists a bad name. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's legal to ride two abreast, but not three?

From the drivers handbook

"cyclists are allowed to ride two abreast however when a bicycle lane is in operation, cyclists must remain within the bicycle lane when riding two abreast, otherwise ride in single file."

i cant seem to see any reference in the book for situations where they can ride more than two abreast, so i guess it is assumed that they shouldnt. whether anyone ever gets booked for it though is another matter....

If they are serious about running a good business, I hope Eagle Boy used it as an opportunity to resolve any issues you had and organized you a free Pizza on the spot to maintain your custom?

If not, they deserve to go bust!
