Adelaide vs WT played just over 40 overs today. WT are 5/115. B grade off - C and D grade called off after about 8 overs. Any other games get away? Seems the side batting first gets the raw end of the deal...

Ports A grade got away, they were 3/15 early
but luderman and weeks slogged away.
Rained stopped them for probs 2-3 hours in between lunch and tea.
then got back out there, weeks brought up a 50 then got out.
Luderman went on to make 100 from what I heard.
I left the game about 4:30.

Very good effort considering the weather, the pitch looked nice and green aswell.

Yeah, Port Reserve always looks like that, not sure whether Weeks is still doing it, but there wickets have been excellent last few years, good batting decks if you can get through the first few overs, does seem a bit, but very deceiving to look at.

Ports is always very green before christmas, but you are right they are great batting decks. Also if the bowlers work hard they get rewarded aswell.
As far as Im aware Weeksy still does the pitches. Could have moved on? Wouldnt think so though!

Incorrect Matty 'greenkeeper' Weeks is currently working on a golf course within the council.. This is the 2nd season since he was the "curator".

Awesome effort by the State Under 19s today at Park 25. Chased down Northern's 245 with 4.3 overs to spare.
Garrett 95 no and Barrett 96 no were outstanding in a controlled partnership.
You don't want to be a bowler at Park 25.

East Torrens won the Ray Sutton final and I think The Jet B's accounted for SA Under 17s fairly easily.

Jets B grade made 300 and bowled the 17s out for 100
I would suggest that the SACA brains trust not allow those who have played A grade be allowed to play against the 17s.
I realize the Jets were looking to get some players in form and only allowed the top 4 to bat for 40 overs but one had to feel embarassed for for the 17s

I must admit I have been surprised with the U19's results against the Grade sides, they have been competitive in all of them which I didn't think would happen. And re Park 25, I take it someone played on the pitch yesterday when it would have been good, second day graveyard for bowlers. Good cricket wicket on first day in use.

Agree. Would have thought the C's would have been a better fit for the 17's.

Jet's B's always a fairly battle hardened side. Big ask for the youngsters to take them on.

Garrett and Barrett ---- what legends !!!
The Stingray "twins" who went through Ray Sutton together, went to England on an "Under-15 Ashes" tour as captain and 'keeper (which got their two names at the top of the English website that gave us the scores each time --- how good was that), and now this WOO-HOO !!!
(Sorry folks, just a very happy fan who REALLY LIKES what he has just read) :supz:

Jets b grade had 3 d graders from previous day in the side 2 of which are still eligible for under 16s and between those two they took 6 wickets and the other d grader mentioned took 2 and he was an under 16 last season. An obvious gap between 17s and 19s mainly a maturity and growth thing I would imagine. the 19s played well today and both lads from southern showed plenty with the bat. Great news also for the 2 northern lads who have made the final squad! Both not been in saca squads before. Well done cam and alex and the others

Side to be announced tomorrow apparently but if your mail is correct well done to the 2 Jets. Cameron played 17s and is a real unit. Bowls the hardest of the spin types to master, fantastic fielder and very handy with the bat.

Saw young Frick bowl in the nets to the Poms before the SA game. He is very good. Has been putting up some very good figures.

Great work by Quinny and the East Torrens lads on Saturday.... leaving the covers on until 10.30ish! to bad you still didnt get the result

Good effort by TTG to chase down the 220 only 3 down. Hopefully can put up a good shwoing against another undefeated side in Sturt this week.

Can anyone confirm that Tait is playing? have heard he is

Another busy day at work FS, I got told he was supposed to play last night but obviously didn't. Get the word out quick, might be a few hammy problems at Bull Park this week if confirmed. :D

Opposite, i rekon the lads would want the challange. They have done alot of hard work over the pre season and they are keen to continue to improve.

We should be at full strength throughout the grades this week so no excuses for poor performances. Sturt are always tough through out the grades so should be 4 good games
