It will be a great system for everyone once the kinks are ironed out
Might help when some posters stop talking unqualified crap as well.

Let me save you the indignity of talking further nonsense. There is no embargo on SAAFL players for yours, mine or any other league for that matter. If you continue to believe and spruik this, however attractive it might seem to you, you are heading for a fall and will contribute to your club making some very unwise decisions.

Get with the program, the APPS is now equal accross all leagues except for the four who did not join, namely the Far West, Broken Hill, Woomera & Kangaroo Island leagues. Now, if you want to recruit players from those leagues with a value of 0 points then go for your life.

Confirmed last night by Gordon Tonkin that each club can recruit 2 Saafl players at 0 points. Old dogs has been put down!

To clarify my comments:

I don't doubt you were told, even up to last night, that it would apply

BUT

it would require a change to the CFL Rules & Regulations, and I doubt you have that.

I was at the meeting the SAAFL clubs had with Glen Rosser and the CFB to informally vote on the APPS. The words that came out of his mouth were:

'If you don't accept, country leagues like the BL&G, GSFL, SFL and HFL are able to take your players as 0 points. If you vote it in, they become 2-3 pointers depending on the division.'

So either, Glen Rosser is lying to the SAAFL clubs, or your delegates have been misinformed?

A CFB Memo was distributed to all SFL and other Leagues Secretaries 17th Nov 2010, and confirms there are only 4 leagues not operating on the APPS for 2011 :BROKEN HILL FL, FAR WEST FL, KANGAROO ISLAND FL, WOOMERA & DISTRICTS FL.

The information below is quoted from the Memo. I reckon it backs up comments that Hills & Amateurs players will definitely attract points

• Leagues will allocate Clubs a Total Points Rating of up to up to 15 points for A Grade teams on match days.
• Leagues may apply for an increase above the 15 Points for a minority of clubs in their league identified through exceptional circumstances and need for support, in any given year, for long term survival.
• Students attending a school in South Australia may play as a zero point player for the respective Old Scholars Club. Eg Westminster College student who then plays A Grade for Westminster Old Scholars.
• A player who returns to a club at which he has played at least 25 Senior and/or Junior games will attract a zero points rating.
• Any player recruited from a League in SA not operating under the APPS will attract zero points.

Old Dog sounds like your barking up the wrong tree maybe you should get back in your kennel! Sounds like encounter bay are gonna be big improvers this season. Add those signings to great guns Chris butler, Camo Lintern, Dave Sanders, Scooter brown etc should be exciting! Here on grape vine Horry Cranes making a come back!
I hear the Yank guys leaving this year is because they dont like playing with tossers like Dwayne Hamlyn or Ryan Lewis? Who could blame them.

truth is two have left in jackman and schnieder both big losses would have been good to hold onto them, may lose one more to reynella but if this bloke goes and thinks early is gonna be easier than hill he will get a big surprise, apart from that the rest are staying so who ever has come up with the mass exodus, its slightly over stated, i would have thought a few in a few out is normal for any footy club. walker wont play next year and will probably be too old and fat to make a come back after that!!!
who ever thought of the saying winning isn't everything, probably lost!!

Players resisting change = unsuccessful club. If these soft individuals don't want to change and the Club wants to be successful then move them on. The Reynella boys under a similarly tough and successful coach have accepted change, have put in the hard work and have been rewarded.

No what you've said is correct but the Gsfl stated if the Saafl was not signed up by a certain date, all Gsfl clubs could recruit 2 players at 0 points for the 2011 season. This was put forward so clubs could get on with recruiting.

Strictly speaking, they were right, however the CFL extended that due date.

Jimmy, that's not quite right either. 2 players seems to be a number plucked out of thin air. It was all or nothing.

Regardless, what is the result from this confusion?
