I think Encounter were lucky with weather, from what i was told the ball was turning white it was that wet. Compass are short a bowler but if they keep making over 200 runs every week they'll win more than lose.
Encounter are gunna be strong as well as Willunga but I can't see any other side doing much.

Seriously though folks Enc Bay are looking pretty handy again this year, and won on the weekend with a second string side!!!

Perhaps..but the 3 players that made runs on satdy chasing 230 i wouldnt call 2nd string. I also think Jase Beveridge deserves some congradulations on making 120 not out. Great Effort

Reckon Tony 'Stay Solid' Barber was probably referring to the Bays missing Edwards, Parry, Moller etc on Saturday yet still won comfortably. The weather certainly disadvantaged the Compass bowlers, but it was still a great effort by the Bays, especially Beveridge & Wood who set the game up for the Bays early on.

im quiet sure i use a puma norm but maybe im wrong, i do recall seeing a ball fly into the council chambers off a gray nicholls bat and off a.evans too

compass arent short A bowler, they have Nashy and oh Nashy. Dalitz bowls poop, binns and num try to buy wickets. lewis is ok but should be filling in a few overs here and there not opening up the attack. they need spurls up and firing. reading the write up it says hicks was the best. but was the last bowler used. where is vitkunas? these young blokes have got to be able to give more to an a grade sides bowling options than nummy and binnsy.

yeh a wet ball is hard to bowl with at the best of times. but it has alot to do with who sends it down. the bays defended 180 in the rain with a ball that was in the same condition in last years GF. moller still able to bowl leggies and take 5. if you put it in the right spot its still hard to get away, doesnt matter if its wet or dry! bowl rubbish and opposition teams will chase you down week in week out.

also whats this about bryce and rosa disappearing to canberra? going to leave a massive hole in the dingy side if this is the case. also opens up the COY betting.

Just looked at mycricket and saw Braidwood is down to play a day of this game! If he played full time i think odds of a Compass flag would shorten considerably! The guy can really play and usually delivers with either bat or ball!!

bring someone straight in for a game from know where,
wouldn't be suprised if some of there young guns that are stuck in the b's find somewhere else to play next year.
especially with thats the kind of selection agenda. Experience before youthful ability. that will win them a flag wont it

and yet another dumb arse post from you daz! , not taking anything away from beaver hes a quality cricketer and certainly can hit the cherry around the park, but with the weather the way it was in compass youd think itd make life a little easier to bat and especially with compass's lack of a quick, it honestly wouldnt of helped , if it was a sunny day things coulda been different so you cant call it very good batting ( except beaver of coarse) youd put it to compass's lack of a quick and weather and some patient batting by beaver! i found that out first hand when its wet the ball isnt quick it skids and is much easier to hit around, and much harder for bowlers to pick up the bar of soap and hurl it down!

Bryce last day 2day (sat 20th) apparently flys out wednesday, gonna miss his bowling.....not hahaha, Rosa not sure wen he leaves.
will definatly be a loss but neither have done a lot so far and we have managed to win a few so hopfully we can continue that wen they leave, got some good depth in the Bs atm so hopfully those who cum up can step up

Sometimes it's not the best option picking someone from the B's if it's only going to be for one week. Don't know what the Compass circumstances are, but often you pick the next best guy in B Grade, and he may be a bowler. If you bat on day one, he likely doesn't get a bowl, may go down to B's next week who also might be bowling..

I think that's where the replacement player rule sometimes isn't the best. In the good ol' days, if you weren't available one week, you didn't play at all that game! I understand the needs of clubs nowadays who may struggle for numbers, but I've often been in teams where it is just easier to pick a "fill in" guy for one week, if you know it's only going to be for one week, than to, perhaps, stuff around a young guy from the B's.. as I said, not knowing what's happening at Compass, maybe one guy may only be missing for this week..
