Agreed Zedman
BUT
Why should other leagues have to wait on the SAAFL
they were given a time, time elapsed, so they made a decision
The right decision for their competitions
SAAFL if they had their act together, then there wouldnt be the problem would there

no doubt.and if we consider that there was meant to be 2 more years of trialling it..what exactly has been going on in getting this up and going and what was the supposed deadline that it appears the SAAFL have ignored? and now are fast tracking..

Speaking of horses - horse $hit!!!

and the leagues cant change the external system without the CFL's agreement so they would need the CFL's agreement to more than 15 points or a change in the points for another league's players.

Rosser was very plain and clear on that Monday night - If I walk out of here without a YES vote, all of your players will be zero points in the morning. He got his YES vote

Because the CFL gave SAAFL an extension of time to the 10th November to give them their decision.

Something else you might want to be mindful of - if we didn't agree, all of your players would be zero as well

Come off the grass 151. You're trying to tell everyone in the footy world that the GM of the CFB has told/is telling the GSFL they can take players from the SAAFL for zero points!
I doubt GR would say that because if he did, he has breached his own standard of ethics and CFB rules. Someone down there has hearing problems or has misconstrued the conversation IMO.

Are there any clubs that will claim exemption due to being purely amateur, if that exemption eventuates?

GSFL can say what they want but the CFL have not agreed to it

It would mean a change in their Rules & Regs and that hasn't happened

I just posted this on the GSFL thread as well....

A CFB Memo distributed to all SFL and other League Secretaries 17th Nov 2010 confirms there are only 4 leagues not operating on the APPS for 2011: BROKEN HILL FL, FAR WEST FL, KANGAROO ISLAND FL, WOOMERA & DISTRICTS FL.

The information below is quoted from the Memo. I reckon it backs up comments that Hills & Amateurs players will definitely attract points

• Leagues will allocate Clubs a Total Points Rating of up to up to 15 points for A Grade teams on match days.
• Leagues may apply for an increase above the 15 Points for a minority of clubs in their league identified through exceptional circumstances and need for support, in any given year, for long term survival.
• Students attending a school in South Australia may play as a zero point player for the respective Old Scholars Club. Eg Westminster College student who then plays A Grade for Westminster Old Scholars.
• A player who returns to a club at which he has played at least 25 Senior and/or Junior games will attract a zero points rating.
• Any player recruited from a League in SA not operating under the APPS will attract zero points.

Excuse the ignorance here, but does each country league team and SAAFL team recieve the same number of points (15)?
Or are the stronger leagues and Div 1 & 2 sides given more points? What are likely to be penalties for breaching these rules (fines or premiership points?) Is there a way around this for any team to fit more points in their side on gameday? Very interested as I know of a club who has recruited 3 x sanfl players and 5 division 1 players, none having previously played for the club!

This club you speak of is stuffed.

Presuming all players are available, there'll be A grade quality players running around in your B grade.
