Norwood now looking for a new half back line :D

Why would you think Spurr would go but wont be rookied?

Interesting comments from Eagleton -

NE: In the end I didn't really chase anyone. Spoke to Glenelg & Eagles but Norwood look like they'll be around the mark for nxt 2 years.

NE: I will have some influence on the midfield set-ups, but their supporter base and history is also appealing.

I'd be pretty sure he spoke to West as well, even though he didn't chase anyone ;)

Is Polec at 5 the highest an Eagles player has ever gone Spelly?

Pav was no.4 off the top of my head.

Thought Pav went in the top 5 or 6, cheers mate

Yes, no 4.

Had quite a few go in the draft that year, of course most went to the Crows:
4 - Matthew Pavlich Fremantle
36 - Rhett Biglands Adelaide
50 - Matthew Whelan Melbourne
65 - Justin Cicolella Adelaide
67 - Robert Shirley Adelaide

PS 12 - Andrew Crowell Adelaide

Mainly hoping, just think his at that in between age where he wont quite be ready to make an immediate impact at AFL level BUT probably isnt going to develop much more than he already has. With him i just cant see why you wouldnt take him on the main list rather than rookie, the only club i was told that was overly keen on him was the GC and they passed there last pick.

As a rookie you get him into the system and can have a look if injuries occur (i.e. Jaensch, Barlow, J-Pod this year)

I think NE only spoke to clubs who initiated contact with him.

He might be a gain but so far we've lost 4 to the draft (Phillips, Gorringe, Puopolo and Duigan) and the last three went interstate. There goes a lot of Norwood's "run and carry" game right there.

Speight was upgraded to North's main list so we wont see him back anytime soon. And there is still the pre-season and rookie drafts to come.

In the SANFL, Lee has transferred to North and Kite failed to re-join Norwood.

Big changes in personnel at the Parade next year.

Unusual for a player with a hyphenated name to be at sturt. ;)

Norwood may have lost 4 players but Phillips will play for you most of the year. Gorringe wouldn't have been in the league side but for the injury to Doyle & he didn't play in the Grand Final

A little bit surprised Joffa Giles wasn't picked up from Sturt...

Still a chance in the PSD and Rookie draft I gues...

Or you could try [.url=http://url]Big Phils description here[/url]

Don't use the . before url in the example above.
I put it in there to show you otherwise it would've tried to show you a false link.

Dutchy, schmidt wasn't upgraded because they chose to take Thompson instead! I guess because Thompson would have been taken by another club I guess! Where schmidt was never going to knock back a rookie contract

Probally a bit of sour grapes but i wonder how The Crows and Power assessed their later picks { ie the Crows no 61 } better players than Puopolo and Duigan who are both hardened and talented SANFL players who with a bit of fine tuning will both be good players for their AFL Clubs next season.
In my view better getting proven players later in the draft rather than young unknowns who in many instances haven't even played senior football and on past drafts many of the late young draft picks either never play AFL or have a very limited career.
Obviously i know little about footy and dont get paid big dollars for choosing a couple of players per season as is the case of these high flying AFL recruiting officers with their entourage of support staff.
