Would be a personal preference I think .. I probably slightly preferred their BDO set (which from memory pretty much had St Anger and Frantic and then all older stuff), naturally this time around they had a new album to promote (which whilst I prefer the older stuff, was still awesome to listen to).

Then again it could have just been the 14 hours of Jacks I'd had in me by the time they played at the BDO.
who are these Jack guys you speak of?
I had a feeling you don't know Jack
jack is the bloke still smashing the drums in my head after last night!!
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Fantastic night

Hard to pick out highlights but if I had to:

The Unforgiven (the song that got me into the band many years ago, and not one that they play all that often)
Master of Puppets
For Whom the Bell Tolls
That was just your life.

I saw them back in 2004 at the BDO and as good as it was to see them for the first time, it felt like I was 1km from the stage! For Toot Toot:

They were a little too 'brutal' for my liking, but certainly kept the crowd happy.

Baroness were excellent. Very Mastodon-ish live.

definately prefer the BDO set list, as blackened & creeping death are personal favourites. was 2nd row centre & got myself a pick, so not too disappointed i missed them this time.

METALLICA!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night was Fantastic. My favourite song for the night would have to be End of the Line, it was brillant. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play Crepping Death or Ride the Lightning but nevertheless it was a very memorable show.

There were a few idiots in the crowd that could of been elsewhere but apart from that it was fine and everyone was just going nuts! It was just awsome just to stand still there at points and just listen to these 4 absolute legends do what they do best. My head and ears felt like sh!t this morning but it was so worth it. I also got some really nice photos of it all aswell.

What a show last night. Old school & loved it all.

Master of Puppets was insane, Creeping Death another ripper.
Leper Messiah & I Dissapear were a surprise, disappointed no-one near me knew The Four Horseman, I was going mad.

Only song I missed was For Whom the Bell Tolls

Id like to thank the boys from Metallica for ruining my future concert life.......................in a good way..........................i dont think another concert is going to live up to that. Last nights gig was unbelievable, the only downside was i missed Fade To Black which i wish they played both nights. I was blown away with the set up the boys put on, stage, lights, sound, light filled coffins hanging from the roof and of course the giant black balls bouncing around to Seek and Destroy. I was amazed walking down into general admission and having the feeling of almost being able reach out and touch the band, simply awesome. Watch now as every other band worth a dollar starts doing the same set up (kudos to the set designer). Simply an awesome night, James belted out every song as he would have 20 years ago and the band couldnt have got themselves a better bassist than Robbie, he is awesome. Finally im glad i got to see Lars work the drum kit in the flesh, would have to be one of the best drummers in the world (freakiest facial expression though). I hope they come back soon to do it all again, time to go buy the Mp3s of both nights
Get that corn outta my face!!

Harvester of Sorrow, Enter Sandman, Four Horsemen, One and Leper Messiah were highlights for me.
Oh...and Die Die My Darling. Went off!

After all the great comments on here, we all loved the show(s), is James Hetfield the most relaxed and "himself" front man you have ever seen? You can see how genuine all his remarks are and for mine, the best front man I have ever seen and is just about at the peak of his game. Musically and with his crowd interaction.
