Currently 105*

If he could bowl he'd be an all-rounder.

Johnson & Watson have both taken 5 wicket hauls. Those two are certain starters now if they weren't before.

Hussey 66 not out! dare I say... safe as houses for the Gabba?

Ronnie McDonald has broken his hand (not that he would've played anyway)

Coupled with the fact he made an unbeaten hundred. If north fails and ferg tons up it will make it interesting....is the aust a vs. england a 4 day match?

Is there any spinner we haven't tried? Doherty with a batting average of 13 and bowling average of 48 in first class cricket...

Good luck to him.

Yep. Can't believe it. They're picking him because Pietersen struggles against the ball spinning away. Picking attacks to counter one batsman. What is this, Bodyline?

Didn't think his stats were that poor.

Based on that why wouldn't you pick O'Keefe who bowls just as well and has a batting average of 42.

Dont understand picking 17,listened to interview from Andrew Hilditch earlier in week,Ryan Harris was never going to be picked as Hilditch stated his knee had swelling and was being rested from shield game, not that it bothers me who gets selected but for Hauritz to only bowl one over in shield game,i think selectors had already made up their minds regarding his non selection. As with any thing in life if you are lacking confidence things can go downhill very quickly,Beau Casson and Jason Krejza certainly found this out.

Is it too late ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

PICK 4 FAST BOWLERS + WATTO

The Gabba has been a seamers delight
Who would you rather face at 3/99 DOHERTY or another revved up fast bowler

This is not being disrespectful of DOHERTY
BUT
Pick a spinner after this test

COLLINGWOOD
BELL
PRIOR
BROAD
SWANN

If these guys are batting between overs 40-90 they gotta be pressured
Otherwise 3/99 will become 327+
Another quick and perhaps 286 and below is achievable

Hilditch dropped Hauritz for the 5th Test in the last Ashes which cost us the series and Hilditch admitted afterwards he never should've dropped him. Now he goes and does it again supposedly because Pietersen doesn't play left arm spinners well. How does this guy still have his job?

Warne, Murali & Vettori have all said Hauritz deserved to retain his spot yet these pitiful selectors know more about spin bowling than those chumps. Hauritz's Test record demands he be retained yet he gets dropped from the squad below both Doherty & Smith two guys who get smacked around in domestic cricket. Supposedly Hauritz is shattered at the way he's been treated and you can't blame him. Last summer against Pakistan he was the leading wicket taker for the series but now four Tests later (two of which were in India where Warne & Murali got smacked around) he's dumped.

Disgraceful.
