Having been on the end of a violent holdup when I worked in banking, let me assure those that do make fun ot it, there is absolutely nothing amusing about it whatsoever - agreed, Dutchy.

Have a mate that felt the end of one of Mr Abbott's barrels 10+ years ago and it's still with him to this day .. Having seen the effect it's had on him I wouldn't make light of such a situation either.

My brother worked graveyard shift at a petrol station.

One night a guy came in off his chops and pointed a syringe at my brother and demanded cash & ciggies.
My brother recognised the guy as they went to the same school 1 year apart.
So naturally he told the cops who it was.

A few months later he found out that same guy ended up taking his own life.

Very distressing for him on all fronts and not a nice situation to be in.

My sister in law was on the end of an attempted carjacking in broad daylight in a shopping centre carpark. Thank goodness a tradie came to her aid and dished out some rough justice with the back of his shovel. She's never been the same person since. She's fine day to day now after a couple of years, but she's just lost a bit of the sparkle she used to have, just not as care free as she used to be. A real shame.

I think ive told the story but I was in one in 1994, shot was fired and I had a hyped up drug addict pushing a shotgun into my chest threatening to end my life there and then.

Still not over it and probably never will be.

Shot fired in ours also which, as you would know Dutchy, is unusual in a holdup, Generally, they don't discharge weapons. For those that haven't experienced it, I pray that you don't.

I hope it doesn't clash with my plans to visit the UK & Ireland in May.

The news channels spent all of yesterday speculating on August 13th being the most likely date and now...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11771616

Bookmaker Paddy Power has made Saturday, 13 August 2011 the 3/1 favourite for the date of the royal wedding.

They should be treated more harshly - at least dead people don't suffer.

The first new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" being pulled by Channel 9, for a boring doco about some engagement and pending wedding somewhere or other.
Thankfully, I have a collection of movies I've recorded on my PVR, and could switch to one of them..

And the information provided on line through the integrated TV Guide on my screen showed TBBT was still officially due when the doco was already rolling.
I checked back at the end of the doco, but they went on to RPA and I went back to my recorded movie - grrr...

I agree with you regards. WGAF? And it's only just begun ACK. I was at the Quack's last night and had to sit through some bullshit with Sandra Sully about it. Thankfully I brought along a weighty Potter tome to read while I was waiting so I could escape it to some degree.
