The point fineleg is making is a valid one, he obviously isnt close to Matt and is seeing it as it is, who cares why he is going back? The point is he is going back and is leaving a team of mates, like someone said, would he be leaving if he was on 200 runs and 16 wickets?
I'm an outsider and it doesn't stink as far as I'm concerned.
-Out at a district club where they show interest in him and build his hopes up.
-Hopes get crushed when the teams are selected and thinks all this hard work for practically nothing.
-Goes out to a less pressure club to find himself and enjoy his cricket.
-Has time to think about things and weigh up whats best for him and his cricket.
-TTG probably got in touch with him and told him their expectations and explained a few things.
-Satisfied with the efforts that TTG have made and realized there is still hope at district level and returns.
I wonder if TTG even explained to him why he is playing B's at the start of the season, I think there was a communication breakdown and he became disillusioned about the bigger picture.
The Billigoats are there for him as a back up plan if things don't turn out accordingly, good on him for having another crack at district level.
Sometimes you have to do whats best for you, it's not as though he's going sideways.
