Onkas to comfortably get over the Mitcham boys. Mitcham little disappointing so far this year. Have some good players just not gelling at present. Onkas on the other hand toyed with the irish lads and won comfortably. Onkas 15+
WI also have been playing some decent gaelic and getting the ball in scoring position often. THE WI boys have more options now and should put up another decent score. The Irish boys numbers seem to be dropping off and we all hope this doesn't continue. WI by 10-15.
Flinders to play this week and have a comfortable win against Port. Port have been improving a playing sunday afternoon gives them a chance to highlight their run and carry. Flinders by 10-15.
The last of the week is tha Saints and the NaFianna boys. Saints starting to build and with a few of their players stringing a few games together the scoreboard has been starting to tick over. NaFianna boys bounced back and were very clinical against the Mitcham boys and had a confidence boosting win. Saints in a close on by 1-5.
I did hear the other night that the Flinders and WI game was postponed. Can someone confirm the reasons behind this. I believe one of the girls teams have had a forfeit on a friday this season so what was the basis for the so called reschedule in this instance. I would have thought that there are times that every team struggle to get numbers (like the Saints sunday after the usual saturday night) and just because 6 or so guys may be out is not reason enough. Does this open the door for more reschedules now...
Maybe this is an indication that sundays may be the preferred time and an alternate venue where two ovals side by side where double headers can be played is the way to go

Not really required to justify why this happened, but the reasoning behind it was we had over 12 players unavailable due to a wedding, work christmas party and various other events. It wasnt a case of our best players being out, but the sheer number of players being out. Western Ireland were good enough to reschedule and contact was made with them on Monday before the game. No precident has been set and all other teams are able to reschedule their games if it is agreed with both teams and the association. We were extremely grateful to WI and Im sure we will repay the favor to them if need be in the future

Well thankyou BB. I was also filled with ponderment (yes its a word if i say its a word) as to how many weddings happen on a friday evening. As previously stated though, good luck to Flinders being able to convince WI to resechedule the game until...wait for it FEB
One can only assume that is a once of occurence and wont happen again until NaFiannas game time clashes with my 30th b,day in a couple of years

FLINDERS 3.7 (16) def PORT 1.2 (5)....this is the score the ref told me but he wasnt 100% certain on that. Either way it doesnt effect the tip results so your score may be correct Nev
BEST FON ; Eanna Kavanagh, Teena Stirling, Rhys "Contiki" Townsend, Todd "Lovechild" McSorely + Alex "Puck" Haughey
PORT ; Levi501, Rosey and Toasty
I didnt see the game so im not really in a position to give any special comments.
NA FIANNA 1.13 (16) def ST BRENDANS 2.6 (12)
BEST NAF ; Matty "Benny" Hill, Nick "Gay Pride" Jolly, Merv Stynes, Gavdust O,Rielly, Ken "has no nickname" Fay + Dirty Dave Aston. However easily our best team performance of the year with all players making valuable contributions.
ST BRENDANS ; Jordy Peg, Jarrod "6" Pommeroy, Andy "Actually plays up fwd" Backman, GinPeg and Zues
A good hard skillfull game. 2 very late goals probably made the scoreboard a little more flattering for the Saints however it was always evident that they would come and come hard downhill with the breeze in the second half. The Saints generally save their best footy for around finals time and i think its fair to say Na Fianna played the football we have been striving towards whilst the Saints were below their best. Overall a very enjoyable contest to be a part of. This loss makes the St. Brendans v Flinders game next week all the more signifigant.
