Who does willoughby play for in the gaelic comp wristy?

Western Ireland he plays for

tom played/was runner for iggies last year. struggled with his hammy i think it was. but josh is a huge in. they will lose white, whiteman and atkinson though. as well as a few older lads i would guess.

Roo wont play next year. his knee is well and truely forked! and his media work.

Not 100% on how it works but i would think J Carr 5 points Willoughby 4 points and T Carr maybe 2 or 3 that would only leave 3 or 4 points spare. Unless Willoughby went to school there?

Mate with all due respect, it's not a wonder people in your league are confused with the type of tripe you are talking. J. Carr and Willoughby are 8 points by themselves and without knowing T.Carr's recent playing history he would be anywhere from 3 to 1. I would imagine Pedlar still has some carry over points and whoever else they might have in the same boat so perhaps do a little homework.

peds 3 down too 2
zillante 3 down too 2 (think hes an old scholar. if so hes 0)
t. carr 4 down too 3 (may also be 3down too 2)
j.carr 5
willoughby 3

dont think they will have any other points? if they do, correct me.
carr and willoughby take up a massive chunk yes, but still room for 2-3 other saafl clearances if not old scholars

If he played the majority of games in the seniors last year, then he is 4, if he played the majority in the reserves, he is 3.

So let me get this right.

If you played for Hackham in the SFL and played the majority of the year in A grade and you wouldn't get a game in Brightons C grade but if you play for Glenelg in the SANFL and play a few more rezzies then league both players are the same 3 points.

What a joke that proves the APPS has some major flaws.

If the bloke you recruit from Hackham doesn't play in your A grade then it is irrelevant how many points he is worth. However, if he would get a game in your A grade then you would have to ask yourself if he is worth recruiting over the bloke who played league reserves.

Ahhh fair enough.
So it now becomes list management.

It is probably more about team selection if you have too many high point players on your list and you have squeeze blokes out of the team cos of their point value. And/or selecting U18s who might not get a game on merit but are worth -1.

Old Scholar sides would have access to very few (if any) U18 players during the year, as they would be required to play for their schools. Therefore, they won't get the benefit of many junior players being -1.

My understanding is Iggies have only lost Atkinson from last year's side, which leaves Pedler, Tom Carr and White as "points players" from last year's squad. By my calculations, all other players would have had a value of 0, including Zillante who is an old scholar.

Since then, they have recruited Willoughby and Grant Bailey, and also Josh Carr if the talk on here is correct. These guys will attract a few points under the new system, so it will be interesting to see how they manage their list. The frustration for Iggies would be that most of these recruits (excluding J Carr) were announced to club members as having signed weeks ago, well before the new system was voted on and agreed to. I'm sure they are not the only club impacted like this either - the new APPS will certainly make it more challenging for clubs to be competitive as they move up the grades.

Pedler- Mypo 3years ago=3 points, went OS -1 point, played for Iggies last year -1 point that by my calculations makes him a 1 point player

Does anyone know how long a player has to live in a area to be counted as a local therefore no points?? Or does it not work like that and all players from other clubs are points??

No such thing as a local but for each year a bloke plays at your club a point reduction applies. eg If Chirs Judd was lining up for your mob this year he would be worth 5 and 4 next year etc, etc.

They have "local" points in country leagues Mr Beefy.

Probably a question best answered in the country forum Watchdog...

Under the APPS the concept of a "local" is obsolete. A league can request their own variations to include such things but opens itself up to manipulation of the system as happens now.
