Im certainly going to see Metallica (a little bummed about having to sit down tho?!) for the 3rd time now, but am more of a Megadeth fan myself! I see Megadeth legend (and one time Metallica lead guitar and vocalist) Dave Mustaine is releasing an autobiography soon, should be a good read for all metal fans!

Mustaine: A Life In Metal synopsis

Former Metallica guitarist and founding member of Megadeth Dave Mustaine talks for the first time about his life in rock ‘n’ roll, finally telling the inside story of the two most influential heavy metal bands in the world. Here, for the first time ever, Dave Mustaine tells the tale of the two biggest metal bands in history; a story yet to be told from the inside. A pioneer of the thrash metal movement, Metallica rose to international fame in the 1980s, selling over 90 million records worldwide, making them the most successful heavy metal band ever. And Megadeth - the second most successful heavy metal band ever - have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, including six consecutive platinum albums. But despite their enormous success together, Dave and Metallica have had some bad blood. In April of 1983, partly due to alcoholism and partly due to personality clashes with founding members Hetfield and Ulrich, he was fired from the band and unceremoniously dropped off at a Greyhound station in Rochester, NY with a ticket back to LA. Now he will finally tell his side of the story. From the early, crazy days of Metallica, to his split with the band to ruling over Megadeth, Dave has seen and experienced it all. And now he's telling it all in his startlingly candid, in-your-face memoir.

If anyone gets any info on metallica's whereabouts while in Adelaide - hotel, flight times etc, please post, want to take the kids to try and get some autographs!

Cheers

Coupla questions for tonight:

Who's the support artist?
What time (approx) could we expect to see Metallica hit the stage?
Which is the best nearby pub to grab a beer in before the show?

Bugger. Looks like I'll have to get soused before I get there.

The stage looks unreal.
I'm hoping they play the following:
Blackened
Harvester of Sorrow
Orion
The Unforgiven
Ham and eggs for breakfast, ham and eggs for tea

Sad but True
Master of Puppets
The day that never comes ( off Death Magnetic, IMO, their best single song in over 10 years )

I hope they open with Fuel...and I have seen in some shows they have done Stone cold crazy ( believe it or not, a Queen song ) and I'm fingers crossed they play it tonight.

Other notables?

One
Memory remains
Seek and Destroy ( seems to be a regular closer from the set lists I have seen )

Just popped my first Paley and man am I pumped!!!

One of my workmates just asked me if my Missus was going into labor, thinks that I'm pacing up and down like a Father expecting his first born...just waiting for a nod from the boss to "head off"....

Surely have to land all the staples of Masters, FWTBT, One, Fade To Black, Sandman, S&D, NEM and Welcome Home .. Reckon we'll get Battery too.

Wouldn't be upset if they skipped the St Anger album altogether, although I don't mind the title track.

Would love them to do Outlaw Torn, but obviously the chances would be miniscule, but no matter .. I CF wait!!! :D
