Me!

Oh, and my almost 4yo girl. My mate is taking his nearly 3yo girl as well. I'm going in early, reserving a spot, taking the form guide in, a thermos full of coffee, an ipod and a brolly then they'll come in to town later. Should be fun!

Not going this year for the first time in seven years.

I usually rock up just before it starts and head to Victoria Square where it's pretty easy to get a good spot for the littl'ns - not in the shade though.

I often jag a pretty good parking spot east of Vic Square, even with the late arrival.

I am in the same boat CP! First time in many, many years with my 3 1/2 year old tomorrow. Mrs Hondo and our almost 2 year old will drop us off somewhere. Don't know where yet! We'll just wing it I think. I'm not sure if he will last the whole pageant. I reckon he will love it actually.

Not going this year. Been the last two years (talk about weather extremes - last year roasting, 2008 freezing). Still love the pageant (even at my age lol)
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

The mrs, 2 kids. mother inlaw and a nephew are going in tomorrow. Leaving home around 7ish..

Maccas breakfast, chalk drawing on the road, and rude people who rock up 5 minutes before it starts and demands their kids get front row seats...

Such a shame i have to work in the morning ;)

Angus asked us if we could go. We felt pretty bad saying no, but it's just going to be too hard because of me being crook and bubs probably isn't old enough to enjoy it. We promised Angus that we would definitely go next year instead. :)

As much as I miss seeing the kids faces when they were young and at the pageant, I really don't miss fighting the hordes for a good vantage spot................so glad my kids have grown up :)

Every one that's going, enjoy it now, I'm sure most will enjoy not going in years to come ;)

Thinks for the tips guys .. My experience ended up being somewhat of a failure, but I dont think its a wasted experience .. I've got a bit of a better idea of whats required in the future.

Hope all who went had a fantastic time .. A few SAFootyer's were actually involved in the pageant, but disappointed I missed seeing them in action, hopefully they butter up again next year.

I got lucky in finding what I think was an Electricity box at Vic Square where kids were sitting on top with a clear view. There was space for one more which relieved my back for the second half! I could see some spots on the other side of the road that might suit a latecomer with a little one to lift up. I don't think I could have held him up for the whole time.

Thankfully, Nana loves the pageant and is happy to take her grand kids.

About 8 or 9 years of being in the pageant has jaded the opinions of Mr & Mrs smac when it comes to the pageant, perhaps the few 7am beers and post pageant functions haven't helped either!

Plus it gave us a sleep in and time to organise ourselves for little miss smac's 5th birthday party at home.

Yep, I went and despite the ordinary conditions to start with it turned out to be ok. I wouldn't say it was the worst experience of my life. I was completely wrapped up in my nearly 4yo's exuberance in each float, clown and marching girl arriving. She actually took me along for the ride!

Next year, bigger and better... we'll be taking the "then to be" 2.5 yo boy!

BTW, well done to the Credit Union. Only when you're in front of it, you realise how much effort and co-ordination goes into the event itself.

Was lucky enough to be in it one year, was the Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland. An amazing experience, although it was also one of the hottest days in the time of the Pageant and the costume made it hotter.
