What about the blokes from Turf that Brahma Lodge picked up? Havent set the world on fire have they. Adam Ozolins is a champion but is yet to set the comp alight this season. Paul Cree played at Gepps Cross last season and hasnt been destroying attacks.

McCarthy, Rogers, Hannun, Sibbick, Reeves, Huitema, Sifkus, Fantasia, McNair, Cree, Davies, McInnes, Parkhouse, Ozolins, Picton, Feltus, Stamatovich, Figallo, Hanson...

... yep id say the standard is pretty good.

So we all agree then...
1. PDCA have some very high quality players playing their comp
2. It's silly to judge someone's ability on just one game
3. Merki's a knob

Ingle Farm Vs Para Hills

7 overs 1/41 approximately 6 an over................expensive.

4 with the bat.

Is this a case of a strong opposition or an average cricketer playing way out of his depth?

That average cricketer is averaging over 70 this season buddy

That says something about the standard of PDCA cricket!

Gee Merk..

If your looking at the same game. One guy scored 91 not out and finished the year with an average of 26 for the season :o
If quality batsman get off to good starts in the year they usually have a great season, says plenty about that guy.
As for your bowlers check out the guy who opened with Stratfold and another guy known as the cricket protector named Box. Not so flash those individual figures[/quote]

Are you alluding to the fact that Merki plays at Para Hills Dr Turf? I would doubt very much that he does. I played in the game mentioned and yes we were a bit thin on bowling stocks that day. Two of our opening bowlers were working and another on holidays so Stratty had to try and battle through ten overs. Don't judge Box on one games figures, the guy has taken a truck load of wickets and scored a mountain of runs. We had a few guys average around the mid 20 mark with the bat and were able to share the work load throughout the season and not rely on one or two blokes to get the job done.

Cooler than a cucumber! ;)
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!
