That would have had a bigger impact surely, stop them in their tracks.

5.pts AFL player previous year.
4 pts SANFL player previous year
3 pts Cat1 Country Metro Leagues
2 pts Cat 2 Country Metro leagues
1 pt.SAAFL player
*note deduct 1 pt from the above for each year a player has stood out of football.
0 pts a player returning to his junior club/school. Son of a life member going to his fathers club. A player who hasn't played competition football for more
than 2 years
-1pt An under 18year old player playing in the A grade
Please note the points value only applies to an A grade player from the previuos year not a B grade player.
Any other variation on this can be applied for to the CFB or Saafl can apply its own variation for use within the League

i was at the meeting and i have the document and it states that a player from a cateogry 1 league is worth 3 points and 'saafl div 1 2 3' are listed as a category 1 league and that a player from a category 2 league is worth 2 points and 'saafl - others' are in included in the list of category 1 leagues. i don't see anything in the document that says saafl players are 1 point. this is the document that was on the website link and notice for the meeting on monday night.
the rest of your previous quoted info corresponds with the document i have.

Its a SAAFL decision that will need to get the OK from the General Committee so not set in stone yet
Ive watched the discussion on here about the 1 point for everyone
Im not sure which is best
If you have higher points for Div 1-3 players, it will make the good players in lower sides at 1 point a bigger target
At an equal 1 point for everyone and no salary cap, someone in Div 6 could buy 15 Div 1 players each at $2k per game to get a premiership
Its a 2 edge sword that will generate plenty of debate
