Didnt the cricket guru on 5CC say that there was very little difference between a grade and b grade standard after giving Potts and Kleinig a spray for playing b grade.

There is a massive difference between the 2 grades loaded. Would suggest that the guru is searching for buttons to push and waiting for a reaction or getting his information from Blue

Finally a decent cricket report on the back page today. One that is worth reading. I was shocked.

How is your cricket going over there Leo? Who are you playing for?

On to football briefly, It is a long discussed subject......but why do Lincoln sides(mostly Lincoln City imo) lose quality players to country leagues. I want some pretty honest answers but at the same time don't just say what everyone else is saying, give us your own thoughts.

Currently i know of 8 players that are definately on the move to Great Flinders and Eastern Eyre. And a couple to Mid West(those can't be helped. work commitments) All of these players are from the Lincoln City clubs and 3 of them played Assoc and the other 5 are quality A grade footballers.

Personally i'm not overly fussed but local clubs will continue to struggle if players keep moving through like a revolving door.

If you want to get some good discussion going, why not reveal who the 8 players are and where they are going. That is far more interesting, this site is so boring these days.....

I'm hearing Hayden Parker has had talks with EU for their coaching job if he doesn't get MR's again.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

ok this is my take, how many of those players steakn are from the country leagues who have played in lincoln and decided it is not for them and want to return to play in the country leagues? you say lincoln clubs will struggle if this keeps happening well what about the country clubs from where these players first came from? what about the locks, eyre uniteds, ports etc they struggle. and i will say this, your club didn't mind signing 3 of our kids in late 2008 after we finished bottom and really needed to hang onto everybody. since them 1 came back to us, another is playing for yeelanna and the other will hopefully be back this coming season. clubs need to remember that people come and go,it happens at all clubs everywhere. in this age where money is talked about often, i can tell you that there is still a huge place for mates playing with mates in the country. and if you look at our recruits from last year and this year you will find that nearly all are originally from the country.

DJD is spot on also the atmosphere in country clubs is more cohesive after the game a lot of the supporters
come in for a beer at the changerooms, at the clubrooms supporters and all grades intermingle, because
of distances the club becomes the social hub on a Saturday night there's no Sharkys, Pier, Tasman etc
to dilute the crowd. I happened to be talking to a lad who is playing at United Yeelanna he reckons the
social life is fantastic, dress up nights, amusing games and of course netball and football follow each other.

Sorry Rama i was referring to recruits Lincoln teams get that seem to just disappear as soon as their interest in the club does. The only ones that do tend to hang around are ones that are brought up through the club. Unless however they get completely shafted by their home club, which does infact happen from time to time. A lot of it comes down to loyalty i think.
I'm not going to name the probable recruits for reason only if it somehow doesn't happen i'll be the one that loses credibility.

that is correct ken, we try to sell that kind of atmosphere. also as money is talked about often, how much is a stubbie in those establishments above (has been awhile!)? alot more then what we charge in our club i am sure.
as for kemp ken, one can only hope.
