Honestly mate, you can't have an influx of footy players one season then an influx of cricketers the next year and expect to not come under some scrutiny from the opposition about players receiving some form of incentive.
Just shoulder arms and allow it through to the keeper.

Footy makes no bones that players are paid although not the sort of money some think is getting thrown around - but yes all A Grade players are paid, some in cash others in Club Dollars to be spent at the bar

Cricket is a different kettle of fish

So one begs the question as to why we would admit to one but not the other

Does it really matter if a club is or isnt coughing up $$ for players? At the end of the day its only increasing the standard of competition!

Also im sure it serves as added incentive to perform better against sides like that ;)

So who cares, if a side can afford it and are willing good luck to them  ...

.... money doesnt necassarily buy success on the field :P

Exactly. More often than not it's not actually the club coughing up the money but loyal supporters. We had money at our disposal this season but didn't use any of it, hopefully that all comes out at our player auction.
If anyone is interested in how it works come to our club on Saturday night around 8ish, there's no obligations and it is a bit of fun and good profit for the club, without any outlay.

correct he is on a $1,000 a run
I believe his payment is he doesnt have to keep

Surely you couldn't force him to keep. I'm not sh1t stirring, but I'm pretty sure both him and Reeves wouldn't play for good intentions.

Darren Reeves coaches out at Salisbury FC and a few of the lads play cricket for us, one being the A Grade captain!

As well advertised, we also have a couple of ex Jets players that both him and Jye know which helped getting them out there.

Both came to our club for no other reason but to play with a bunch of good guys, believe it or not.

I dont really give a sh!t if you believe me or not as your opinion means jack to me.

so why are they playing a grade

Saucer of milk anyone?? This is turning into a nice little cat fight! ;)
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

Catchit loves sticking the boot in when other clubs "recruit", yet most clubs he has been associated with do just that! Then usually the money runs out and he goes somewhere else. How many more clubs do you need until you have a full set of club shirts? ;)
