I heard the new coach was Screach... any truth??

I hear that Wristy was won the prostigous "least dressed man in Gaelic" ever since its inception?!

Cheese Twisties wrote:Not many nominations for the Gaelic7s competition thus far - any existing State League clubs want to field a team at this late stage? As pointed out on this thread a while back, its been a very long time since a club won the Hannigan Cup who wasnt also fielding a Gaelic7s team at the same time!

The Gaelic7s is a top way for State League teams to blood new players, and for teams to work on their game. Sorta like training really!

MBK your mob usually has a few players (Matty Hill, Kenny, Gav O'Reilly etc) playing with rival Gaelic7s teams for a bit of practice - keen to lodge a team from Na Fianna or Payneham?

Schimma, surely Western Ireland will be fielding a team this year?

Nev not sure if Flinders have ever been in the Gaelic7s, keen to give it a crack?

Not good news. I will be playing this if it goes ahead with a new team that has nominated. I have been keen to find out the status of the league but have not been able to get any info until I read your post.

Taints got up 2.11 - 1.6 I think over Ports.

Port have got some blokes that can take some really good grabs around the field - think they must of appreciated playing in the in dry for the first time.

Still had a lot of players making some common mistakes for first year players. They should get that out the system pretty soon and will expect them to get a few wins after X-mas.

When i left it looked like Na Fianna were taking care of Mitcham pretty easily.

Also i think Onkas got over I.A reasonably comfortably on Friday night.

Yeah i was told Onkas by about 6-10 over Irish.
I saw first hand St Brendans 6-10 over a much more dangerous looking Port.
Na Fianna beat Mitcham 4.10 to 0.2 to make a menz for our worst display in our clubs history last week.

My PC is broken at home so i will have to update the tips later this week but i think more or less everyone got 3/3

I saw both the mens game yesterday, but after the St Brendans v Port game I was left questioning where was ZC???? I got there early to see the second highest paid man in gaelic & was left disappointed

Also good to see Gino back between the pipes, or 40m in front of them at least!

Good response from Na Fianna after a disappointing last week.

Could ZC be ON DEATH ROW at the Taints...?? Yesterday we played 15-a-side and had a full bench, and we were still without many regulars including Tony Huebner, Tim "Reg" Grund, the ever reliable Jazz Bazz, and also the up and coming excitement machine Matty Despott. ZC's latest in a long string of match day pull outs could see him cooling his heals in the Gaelic7s comp (should it get off the ground)...!!

Tho in true Taints form no doubt we will have about 8 players available this weekend and ill be pleading with ZC to take the field against "the old foe" Na Fianna...

 1) wrong guess on the identity 2) you have to admit it was clever 3) It was aimed at the Flinders of yesteryear 4) It was a nice little Gaelic history lesson for you.

All the best for 2010/11 Nev ;)

ROUND 5

ONKAS 16+ v Mitcham...Looking forward to seeing Onkas up close for the first time this year and sincerely hoping that Samuel Janetski does not malt to much hair on me if i pat him ;)
W.I 16+ v Irish...If your reading this and you play for I.A for F,s sake tell your coach to tag Josh Willoughby  . He is the form player of the comp ATM and has been BOG in the 2 games that i have seen the Goats play.
FLINDERS 1-5 v PORT....If it rains the Reds will win comfortably but if its dry this game could go either way. Probably just a little more class upfront for FON in Captain Headband, The LoveChild and Teena Stirling. Should be a good game
GAME OF THE ROUND
ST BRENDANS 1-5 v NA FIANNA...Tough to tip against my boys who were sensational last week but there is a reason the Taints have won 2 Hannigan Cups in a row and that is consistency and eveness in contribution. They dont rely on any one player and there best and worst are not miles apart. Hopefully will be a tough tight contest for the thousands of fans

Onka's 16+ over Mitcham
WI 16+ over IA
Port 1-5 over FON
Na Fi 1-5 over St B - based purely on the fact that ZC is rumoured not to be playing again.

Got a feeling you won't be meeting MG on the field...
As for picking Ports, just taking a risk to get one up on everyone. Could pay off depending on what FON rocks up
