Little bit ironic, McCarthy 4/25 in Grade 4 vs Virginia, McCarthy 4/27 in Grade 1 vs Virginia.

I'm actually surprised he didn't call yes for a run. It appears there's always one to short cover though.

:) Can't believe you went for that Oz, I think Scotty mac was stitching you up to take the glory for himself.

As for that handled the ball, I think (hope??) it was only a tongue in cheek moment, not sure T20 (or amateur cricket) is the right arena to be appealing for that? Reminds me of a couple years ago EP vs Craigmore, young Baker I think from Craigmore handled the ball, one of our guys appealed and the umpire fired him. We talked the ump to letting him come back out, and they ended up putting on 100 or so for the 6th?? wicket, cost us the match as we lost by 19 runs. :)

I cant believe the umpire fired him, he went on to make 50 odd no and win the game for CCC. Best knock he had for the year but he is repaying our faith now with a 75 and 120 in his first 2 knocks this season.

Lets not overlook the fact that the ball was going back to the stumps, and he grabbed (or knocked, can't quite remember) the ball. Either way, the right decision was made IMO as for me, that was not how we wanted to go about our cricket.

Yeah, when the umpire asked if I really wanted to appeal the issue was waived off by all concerned. Just something to razz blokes about.
