turn it up mate, helmets are for sissy's ;) never worn 1 even against bowlers far quicker than jim. still probably says something about my questionable mental state  and why my head has more stitches than a pair of levi's.

Last match it was something like 41 out of 47, before that it was 48.5 out of 70.5. Not much bowling depth at Smithfield or do you guys put faith in these 2 lads to get the job done? Not having a dig at the Panthers, but find this unusual as most teams spread out their overs, and you find on average the strike bowlers having 12-15 overs per innings. On that note, is hodgey playing this year?

(Disclaimer: Just realised that Angle Vale do the same with Carmen and Pearce...but i guess there's no-one from them to comment on that)

To answer this accurately, round 1 Raed wasn't able to get there til 3 therefore he was unable to bowl for the remainder of the day, this left them a bowler short.
Round 2 saw us bowl 19 overs on day one and then needed 8 for under 70 on day two, they were both bowling reasonably well and stayed on, the skipper and I chatted about it last night as I saw it as a bit of an issue too, he's only in his 2nd game of captaincy, has a great cricket brain but has realized captaincy is more strategic than it appears to be.
Funny enough, one of the bowlers said to him "shall I go grab my deck chair" when he got taken off.
Yes, Hodgey is playing, he's been working every 2nd week so far this season, he was a week 2 player in round 2.

agreed old mate captaincy is a challenge and it can often be difficult to give everyone as much of a go as 1 might like. however in the first game we were 2 bowlers down if you include ledge. 2nd game i actually offered the ball to raed and he wanted mossy to chase his 5 for, which he took justifying that decision. dazza had a stiff shoulder which made things difficult. as you mentioned the fact we bowled 19 overs on the first day also clouded those figures. stats can often be deceiving, if not put in context. i wouldnt say strategic problem lm more of a man management issue, live n learn mate might go get my deck chair ;) .

went down and watch this game for a few hours. tbh some of the most average batting from 2 sides (except for 1 bloke for the billies who hit 50 odd)... bowling looked to be nothing more than padestrian other than Cree who seemed to bowl with good wheels and very accurate. Neither side seemed to have any batsman willing to spend time at the crease and wait for the bad ball.

if this is the quality of these two sides then both will stuggle to stay up... Cree will do damage with the ball but needs more help from the other end with the new ball but both sides certainly need to find something with the bat.
