Massive thanks to the boss of A.T.C.A for not cancelling the junior comp today. Too easy is it for clubs not to bother about preparing wickets for their juniors. Lets not forget that with heat outs there are enough days missed. Most of our clubs are community sides that should have people prepared on a Sunday to roll and mark wickets when possible rather than throw their hands in the air and not bother about the future lads getting a game.
To the back up curator at Ingle Farm ( Steve Hay ) thank you very much for your time this morning in producing a cracker wicket for the two U/15 sides that played there today.
There may or may not be clubs out there that fell into the category of cant be bothered, let me tell you it is much better having a game than not, and people that give a shit.

Heard a while ago out at bowls that Heidrich and Bishop were playing cricket at Para Hills this year, could not believe it but then had it confirmed yesterday at the RSL club.
Is Para Hills struggling that much they need two 40 year olds to play?
What about the poor juniors that they could be promoting?

I will certainly be celebrating that day along with all the other pensioners in the community.
They seem to be sending the right message to the juniors.

Tough balancing act in my opinion..
Para Hills have been very close the last couple of years and 2 experienced quality players like that may be the difference.
I reckon both would be still up to it even at 40 odd...
If the kids are good enough, then they will find their way in somewhere....

1-5mm on Friday late in the day, if that's at the lower end it might be ok to get a start.
Saturday's rain they are saying will come later in the day as the separate front moves through.

Best case we may get in 2 hours play.

good for the 2-day comp but maybe not good for the one-dayers.

If there is no more rain before the start of play, most grounds should get away on time..

Another 1-2 mm overnight and i would say there will be late starts everywhere..

1-2 mm in the morning and i think the barman will be busy!!

who do you play for Trader?
our game got started under light showers and the got heavier. We had to call it off as when one of the bowlers was bowling, he was starting to rip up one end as he was wearing rubber soles. We could only get 4 overs bowled. Such a frustrating year so far.
