No John Wright, Martin Snedden or Ewan Chatfield, maybe they are just sentimental favourites of mine, I loved watching Wright open the batting.

I wonder how close Gurusinghe was to being selected, he held the side together many a time when they were minnows. Most of them players are from the last decade or so when Bangladesh have become a test playing nation and the standard has dropped off.

They'd wanna hope their batsman score some runs, Rumesh was a bunny, batting at 8 he'd get a nose bleed. Although Vaas is no bunny, number 7 is a bit rich.

I wonder how a West Indies 80's team would've faired against our world beating team?

WI
Greenidge
Haynes
Richardson
Richards
Lloyd
Logie/ Gomes
Dujon
Marshall
Holding
Ambrose
Garner/ Roberts

Spares: Hooper, Harper, King, Patterson.

AUST
Hayden
Langer
Ponting
M.Waugh
S.Waugh
Bevan/ Lehmann
Gilchrist
Warne
Lee
Gillespie
McGrath

Spares: Blewett/ Fleming/ MacGill

Or you could try the same thing with the mid 2000's team.

WI
Greenidge
Haynes
Richardson
Richards
Lloyd
Gomes clearly ahead of Logie. I'd have Hooper ahead of Logie as well.
Dujon
Marshall
Holding
Ambrose
Garner

Spares: Hooper, Harper, King, Patterson. WALSH way ahead of King and Patterson

AUST
Hayden
Langer
Ponting
M.Waugh
S.Waugh
NAH, Marto mate.
Gilchrist
Warne
Lee
Gillespie
McGrath

Spares: Boof, Magilla.

Or you could try the same thing with the mid 2000's team.

We'd win because of Warnie. Dutchy Holland and Murray Bennett spun em out at their peak.

I thought I had Marto in there, I didn't proof read it lol. Plus there's been a few brain cells killed since them days. TBH, I never rated Bevan as a test player and thought he played for his average too many times in the ODI's, sure, he saved our ass a few times though.
Forgot about Walsh too.

Thought you'd have forgotten Walsh. Best 'workhorse' bowler ever I reckon. I left out Roberts because he was more of the era of Lawrence Rowe, Collis King, Wayne Daniel and Roy Fredricks. Very tough to leave out so many absolute gun fast bowlers.

I was side on at Adeliade Oval one day watching Malcolm Marshall and couldn't believe how much pace this small bloke was generating. He was probably the best of the lot because he used to do more than just blast you out, he had an excellent cricket brain and was a competent batsman as well.

I would have been a fascinating match and I consider myself very fortunate to witness both of these teams at their peak along with the Chappell era Australians of the mid seventies. What is teeball compared to that?

I may be a bit cynical here but is there any Aussies that would feature in a current world's best 11 going around atm, in either ODI's or tests?

Cameron White would definitely feature in the ODI XI.

Struggling with the others, maybe Hauritz.
