Hey 7-Dog,
While the leagues are called Central and Country, they are essentially Div 1 and 2, obviosuly the stronger being Divvy 1. this is mainly due to the population of the town that team comes from but is not the only reason.
Callington is a very small town and from all reports not very well run so obviously struggles on the field. Money is also a factor in this with teams like Torrens Valley forking out big coin for some of the quality players you've mentioned.[/quote]

Oh, is it a promotion/relegation thing like SAAFL?
By looking at the names in the best for each team/league and the amount of 100 goal kickers, I assumed that Country was the better league.

The only name that I know in Central is my old Basketball foe, Leith Marston - (Port Augusta vs Eastern Hills) I never even knew he played Footy.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Haha don't even bring up relegation! Long story but yes there is, when all clubs agree. Will be interesting to see how TV go in Central Div, as they are the team coming from (DIV 2) Country. Leith is a bit of a gun up forward, but assisted largely by a strong midfield contingent delivering the ball on a platter to him!

Gumeracha/Eastern Park and now Brahma Lodge too? Who has Thommo pinched from your mob Robran? Gumeracha are the new Torrens Valley. I heard Athelstone tried to pinch a Gum player but weren't even in the ball park when it came to $$$$.

Heard in the pub yesterday that Dennis Russell will coach Echunga. If this is true I'd say they'll pick up Shane Russell too.

There's a name that I have heard alot about, as he was a great coach/player at our club, only 1 of 2 Player/Coaches to take our club Top. Look forward to meeting him, hopefully in 2013 for the 1983 reunion.

Don't bet on it. The players Kersbrook are talking to are just a bit better than div 5 stars.
