I actually rate it as a good competition having played in it in recent years.

Yeah it must be awesome Winning by 50 goals one week then losing by 20 the next.

Those comments must/will continue to hurt Country Div until it is sorted, the HFL big boys need to move those 2 sides to C grade for a while!

Won't happen! That would mean they'd have to make a "tough call" and they're not up to it.

New B grade coach down at Rooster Park... Big Mash Coad getting the nod after impressing the selection commitee. Will be interesting to see how he goes stepping up into the role, good luck to him.

This new points system has me baffled. Why do Birdwood get more points next season than Echunga and Kersbrook after coming from a supposed higher Div? :?

I think Dennis has connections through his daughter at Echunga. Also know Shane wants to put the boots on again next year.

Well they might not be if Krieg and McGahey join Jars at Torrens Valley. Understand Jarmen had a good rapport with these blokes when at North Adelaide and wouldn't surprise if they're on his recruiting radar.

Is there any actual truth in Jars going to TV? It's seems very unlikely to me as he seems to want to get into the AFL system, going through Torrens Valley would not be the most traditional path I've heard of.

Probably the best player i have seen in country footy for some time apart for those central div players they are much better ;)

Agree with you there.
Didn't come across too many 6 footers in my time with his pace
Remember Graham O'Brien - apparently it's the late Graham O'Brien now???????? RIP if true - telling me a couple of years ago that he thought Luke Slattery was up to AFL football.

Really can't believe the Mitchell appointment at Callington.
Not because I don't rate him, I actually do as a coach but he didn't have cattle with us and he had club at heart to a level you don't see from too many non resident coaches.

Was told Fitzroy were happy with him so not sure what happened there.

Hey guys, I'm a player from the SGL and find your Country/Central leagues to be quite fascinating.

Which is the stronger of the 2 leagues? and do you play a inter-league game.
Why is 5-6 teams able to kick 45+ goals vs teams (Callington) quite easily?

I also notice "Luke Slattery" mentioned as one of the best country footballers. Yeah he is a unique talent, played against him many years ago and were teammates briefly at North Adelaide.
Nathan McDowell (TV) is also another talent that I have played with & against and he was always something special.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Hey 7-Dog,
While the leagues are called Central and Country, they are essentially Div 1 and 2, obviosuly the stronger being Divvy 1. this is mainly due to the population of the town that team comes from but is not the only reason.
Callington is a very small town and from all reports not very well run so obviously struggles on the field. Money is also a factor in this with teams like Torrens Valley forking out big coin for some of the quality players you've mentioned.
