Last night I saw a lot of natural talent in that group of U21 lads, with the only disappointment being that they represented a mere TWO clubs within our Association - that being Enfield and Fitzroy. I sincerely hope that the other Clubs are also promoting the participation of the junior cricketers at a representative level, as they are the future of our competition.
What was pleasing was the willingness of the lads to listen to advice and work on little things that were identified to help them improve their techniques, and indeed their cricket overall. For them to step out of their comfort zone of what they are used to in Club cricket and want to learn speaks volumes for their character and attitude - traits that the coaching staff value highly.
Pidge, on the other hand... Well, some things are just beyond repair .

I thought I had seen it all after watching Mick Feltus bat, but young Pidgey has put a whole new spin on 'quirky' batting techniques.

Best advice I can give you mate is 'see the ball, hit the ball'.. Let's not over-complicate things..

I don't like to single just one person out, but for a 15yo, Chris Kennison has the potential to be a gun. If Tommy can keep him away from the loose cars and fast girls in a few years time, he'll be one helluva cricketer.
