Would it be that one of the Maggies or Power would have to be put out of their misery?
Serious questions, just trying to get my head around it all...

There wont be any simply because the club no longer needs the Magpie only fans.
From the one PAFC letter
Port AFL and Non Port SANFL supporters will not be disadvantaged and they can still support Port in the AFL and their own SANFL Club.
But nothing directed at non Power fans being disadvantaged.
they will get their one community by screwing the SANFL fans that turn up each week to watch the Magpies. The Curtain Raisers will be to hide the fact that people would still complain about having two games to go to and when fans like me leave to hide the lower crowds at Alberton.
I think you need to leave the paranoia to the NON Port fans Lynwood. Fact is, Port Adelaide needs to concentrate on the MAJORITY of its' core supporters (the low hanging fruit) and attracting the disenfranchised back into the fold. I'm certain they'll work a pricing structure to allow people like you and opposition supporters who don't want to watch the Power into Footy Park, just like they intended for Bay supporters at the 140 year celebrations.
I also reckon you won't be complaining when they schedule a Magpie match prior to a Saints game?
How is it Paranoia saying that they have not said how Magpie fans will be affected because they haven't. and as for attracting more supporters the Magpies have enough just look at the crowds since 97. So we do not need this, the only reason this is needed is to help the Power and if the POW was not leased by the Magpies this would not be considered. Also show me the research that says this will help boost crowds for the Power?. The only thing that will come is from Magpies fans who have already stated they will no longer follow the club becasue they will not give the power money to support the Magpies. it has nothing to do with pricing but rather where our money goes for supporting our club.

I was wondering whether they may stir up the latent hostility enough to lose some of those fans currently following both Port clubs.Lynwood wrote:There wont be any simply because the club no longer needs the Magpie only fans.Psyber wrote:Interestingly, the Port Adelaide clubs may actually succeed in killing each other off with this strategy, by stirring up the hostility between traditional Magpies supporters and the new Power breed.

That makes no sense to me at all.

The fact that the Maggies would be playing a curtain raisers to the Power would be a good start. I attend all Power games but find it hard to get to many Maggies games because of family and other committments (probably only 2-3 a year).
I would definitely get there early to watch the Maggies as a curtain raiser though!
