By the way why surprising that Trevor Potts is coaching in the HFL was there a reason he didn't want to come back to the SFL?

he's been there and done that... 3 flags in 3 years for a quality side...

Was actually 2 flags in 4 years. And the side was far from quality when he rocked up. Would be very surprising to see him at club for only 1 year. Thrives on turning football clubs around.

i was talking about plympton 87,88,89...

How about B. Porter? Would he be any chance?

Navy - have you got something for Porter? Been trying to sell him to every SFL club looking for a coach. Perhaps his day is done in the SFL and may need to look at another market to shop himself.

Roo I know Ben and believe he is a quality coach I think he'd do very well if a club gives him a gig. And I'm happy to give him a plug thats all.

Not sure if true but I heard Alan Stringer was the successful applicant for both the Brighton and Cove gigs and chose to coach the cobras next season.

why would you turn down Brighton for Cove? Surely Brighton would be seen as a better chance?

Hasn't Ian Cox got a role as assistant coach for the Bays reserves or something like that?

If he does apply at Brighton I'd imagine he'd probably get it he seems to be held in very high regard in both SFL and GSFL circles.

Has anyone approached Damien Gigney to coach. Did a serious leg injury in the Hills for Blackwood this year and would be unlikely to return. Would make an awesome coach I'd think. A lot of experience there.

Very smart footballer but not sure if he has the makeup to be a coach?? Such a shame that injury can finish the career of such a good footballer.

So Mahoney didn't get the job? Heard he was bringing a few players with him that would have almost secured them the premiership!

I heard the same thing ZC ... apparantly one applicant didn't like latte's, one was too white and refused to get a tan, and the other wanted players to wear slacks & a shirt earl style but the players complained that sleeveless shirts with hoods/demin shorts/thongs would need to be uniform worn if injured, and finally the fourth applicant insisted that he needed atleast one player to win a honest hard ball .... ;)
