Sunday, 15 August 2010
Motherwell 2-3 Hibernian
Saturday, 14 August 2010
Aberdeen 4-0 Hamilton
Hearts 1-1 St Johnstone
Inverness C.T. 0-1 Celtic
Rangers 2-1 Kilmarnock
St Mirren 1-1 Dundee Utd.

Round Up

Debutant Paul Hartley scored three penalties to give Aberdeen their first opening-day home win in 16 years as they hammered Hamilton 4-0 to go top of the fledgling Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League table.
The former Bristol City and Celtic midfielder netted twice from the spot in the first half after winger Sone Aluko had been fouled in the penalty area by first Simon Mensing and then Jack Ross.
Defender Zander Diamond added a third six minutes after the break with a clinical finish to put the result beyond doubt before Hartley sealed his hat-trick from the spot after 65 minutes following a foul by Ross on Chris Maguire.

James Beattie helped Rangers begin their defence of the title with a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock - but failed to mark his debut with a goal.
Kenny Miller and Steven Naismith were both on the scoresheet for the Scottish champions before Jamie Hamill pulled a goal back from the penalty spot as the season opener at Ibrox ended 2-1.

Walter Smith's men were under pressure to open with a victory after rivals Celtic secured three points with a 1-0 win at Inverness.
Paddy McCourt seized an early chance to prove he can fill Aiden McGeady's boots as his superb strike gave the Bhoys victory.
The winger was handed the left-wing berth 24 hours after McGeady completed his £9.5million move to Spartak Moscow and he repaid manager Neil Lennon in style with his 56th-minute strike as Celtic recovered from a slow start to produce a commanding second-half display.
McCourt beat three men before finishing brilliantly in a goal reminiscent of his solo efforts against St Mirren and Falkirk last season, although he paid the price as he suffered a knock to the head that ended his involvement.

St Johnstone striker Sam Parkin scored a goal on his debut to keep Hearts' new signings in the shade in a 1-1 draw.
The former Walsall forward levelled on the stroke of half-time after Calum Elliot headed the hosts in front just seconds earlier.
New Hearts strikers Kevin Kyle and Stephen Elliot were given a standing ovation when they made their first appearances as 65th-minute substitutes but the pair failed to influence the outcome of the game.
The visitors held on at the end despite being reduced to 10 men in the 74th minute when Steven Anderson was dismissed for a rash tackle on Suso Santana.

Jon Daly salvaged a point for Dundee United with an 89th-minute strike as they drew 1-1 at St Mirren.
The United striker was alert to net a loose ball from close range at the end of a match in which his side had enjoyed the majority of chances.
They had fallen behind on 73 minutes when new St Mirren signing Sean Lynch marked his debut by scoring the opener following a corner.

Good start MT.

well the decision to let Calderwood go from Aberdeen is now starting to hurt. Calderwood was able to get players whereas McGhee didnt seem to be able to attract the players.

2 very bad losses in the last few days

McGhee is a dead man walking at this stage and I think will be out by x-mas.

very sad state of affairs

Magee was on the radio this am. Basically saying he has a job to do and he inteds to see it through. I think that translates into "if you want me out you will have to sack me and pay me off"

He did say injuries are a real problem and he has no depth hence 7 under 19 year olds in the side
