Funny cricket isnt it.

Last week we were in a great position in the game and the threat of rain was about and i was dearly hoping we would get at least 15 minutes play.

Fast forward two weeks and threat of rain is about again with forecasted showers friday and saturday, this time i kind of hope it unleashes and rains like hell and no play is possible.

Weird game.

A nice note from the weekend is that the Adelaide Bangladeshi lads had their first win in the comp. Well done.

Yeah I heard that they may need to read the competition rules though. A few misinterpretations of the legside wide rule and the run out rule.
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Yeah was going to post the same thing but didnt want to take away from their win and take the thread off topic.

Playford batted first and payed the usual ruling towards wides being leanient with the ball heading down leg.

When the Bangas batted they went with the international ruling of paying every single ball down leg as a wide. No need to say in Div8 15 wides were therefore paid. Makes a massive difference in a two wicket win.

No one at Playford is MY players mate, infact i took 8 for 19 against their A Grade last week so i dont think they would be claiming me as one of theirs.

Im not blaming that for the loss and if you do lose 9 for 60 you are going to lose more games than you win.

BUT what i wrote was FACT and unfortunatly they ajudged by the WRONG interpretations which without question gave them an advantage especially considering Playford didnt have the oppurtunity to umpire by the same rules. It could possibly have been a 30-40 run turnaround.

Yeah i will just clairfy im not saying they cheated, it could purely be a misunderstanding of the rules grade 8 plays.

from the boundary thought rosies were appealing for caught behind.... interesting decision that 1 not sure wot happened myself. good to see a little banter n passion out there on the ground but both teams having a beer after. well the 1s who stayed around for a bit anyway. good to hear jims fired up, like he didnt give me enough bumpers n bruisers anyway ;)

umpire informed me prior to game that short pitched bowling at the head specifically will be called a no ball. surely this can not be the case. can anyone please clarify this rule for me as it sounds absurd

The way I see it is any ball above the head is a no ball, but 6 at the chin is all good?

Yep the banter was good, the poor umpire didnt no wtf was going on when I was out there batting, he had never seen anything like it... But I will say there was some banter directed at our number 3 batsmen that just wasnt needed? Like you and me said after the game as long as it doesnt get personal it is all good.. I guess thats where jim comes into it ;)

Is it possible for Catchit to post a comment without mentioning how good Jimmy is?
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!
