I have to mention that Pidge bowled Richie out today too. Tho to be fair i take most of the credit coz as soon as i starting warming up for the war on terror Richie started to take to Pidge knowing he was about to face the "Typhoon". So we share that wicket Pidge. ;) Round 1 to Auto's war on terror.

Some interesting results and reading from the weekend.

Morialta drew AC Blues in div 2.
Wingfield Royals are back
Enfield seem to have Piper back and also Craig Davids in the A grade again.
Plenty of low scores - good bowling or poor batting?
Ross Smith looked to have struggled
Fitzroy B grade appeared competitive

Roos shared the wickets and runs around
Recruit Matty Ralph scored 40 odd not out, while Barnes had a great clutch innings scoring 29 not out, with a couple of sixes to help Paralowie start the season with a win

Paralowie B had a solid win to give the club a great start to the season

How did Carey go?

i'm not one to hand out compliments to Fitzroy- but i must say well done to the A's for the way they fought out the game. You have some young, promising players. I just hope that they dont all up and leave when they find out the real reason why they have a doodle.
( dont worry pidge i'm sure this wont be a problem for you) ;)

PS: BB, get well soon!

fire up source  and dont tell Lairdy he captained good :P his head is big enough as it is hahahaha!!

As for the misses or dropped catches etc, yep thats cricket :( you have those days and then you have the days when they go the other way, when you take the blinders and take the chances and the 50/50s go your way.

Regroup and fire up again next week cuz ;)

Made 10..took what seemed like a life time.
The LBW looked pretty close, apparently Enfield keeper said he thought it was maybe too high

yes the LBW i must say i thought i was in real trouble but eddie (the umpire at the time) thought it was a bit high as did someone behind the stumps (slip or keeper) but at the end of the day i didnt score another run before hitting a full toss straight back to the bowler.

on our batting i thought mark frith was good early for us got 30 odd, boxhead opened for 20 odd, eddie looked solid at 3 before gullys slower ball got him made about 10, i batted at 4 felt ok but trust me peolpe YOU CAN NOT BAT WITH YOUR HAND IN PLASTER evrything thing was bottom hand, ralphy at 5 was excellent hit 40 odd, 6 and 7 did nothing then barnes had some nice ball striking to hit 29 N/O.

as for our bowling barnes only lasted 3 overs hurt his knee 1/10, clarkson was good 8 overs 2/36, pete graham bowled first change and was sh!thouse 8 overs 0/nearly 40 although his last 2 overs were alittle better, bryce norton was pick of our bowlers and didnt take a wicket! 0/26 of 8 overs of off spin, i bowled ok i guess 8 overs 1/22 and the eddie was also good with the ball taken 2/30 odd off 5.

all in all was a good game of cricket i think enfeild will go alright this year not to bad of a side at all
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Yep, sure a few things went against you guys but we also dropped some relatively easy catches and it only took us 36 overs to reach the target as there was no pressure on us and Lenny just wanted to occupy the crease for as long as he could in his first game back.

I just feel for you guys when you come up against the much stronger other teams in Div 3. I would be surprised if you faced any opposition as weak as our team was for the rest of the season - we were missing the 8 best players from our Div 4 Grand Final team last season!

Seriously, what is the logic behind you guys getting thrashed week after week in Div 3 (you didn't win a game last season) while your more experienced better players collect premierships in the lower grades? Surely this is not healthy for
a) the development of your younger players
b) your club or
c) the association
??? :? :? :?

Ill go the opposite and say that going off your report etc, i think Paralowie wont set the div alight and be the side that dominates as many have expected..

pretty sure in the c's theres one ex a grader the captain whose 38? the youngest is 15 and will be an absolute gun by the time hes 18 and a 21 yo then the next youngest is mid 30's??? dunno how long we suppose to be hanging on to the older people to play for us that will hurt us more in the long run instead of us playing the younger ones... if we wanna be picky we could also say we had 5 b graders out on the weekend probably wouldnt have made a difference but anythings possible

There was 13 blokes on the field and only 2 thought it wasnt out..the keeper (Simmo)who obviously needs glasses and Eddie who i don't know what he was thinking!!!..Careys face said it all when it hit him and he walked away very quickly,it just would have been nice to get Carey's name on the list of my wickets, even though he was batting like a one-handed retard  ;)
