In the Victor Times yesterday they reported that the Southern Expressway will be a 2 way road by the end of 2014.

That is correct.

It is currently out for design and will commence in December 2011 for completion in June 2014

You're not serious are you? The SE Freeway is excellent.

And if you're referring to the recent accident - accidents are much fewer and far between that on the old freeway, there was a truck rollover every second week on that bloody think.

They might want to invest in a couple more arrestor beds, but otherwise it's not road engineering that's the problem there.

The power isn't in the sunglasses, it's in the 4WD itself "hey, I've got a bullbar I'm safe.. eff you buddy".
It's all the SANFL's fault.

dont understand how anyone can push you out of the way without hitting your car etc. If he is tailgating you if your not in the right hand lane then its his problem not yours. If your sitting in the right hand lane under the speed limit then he has a reason to tailgate. I tailgate people who sit in the right hand lane under the speed limit myself because 95% of people out there dont know that Keep left unless overtaking is a ROAD RULE. Its usually grandma and grandpa that do it or a rich male in his BMW and thinks the world shines out his A*se and his car should be in front .

Tailgating is a hugely dangerous practice and there is no excuse to do it anywhere or anytime.

Agreed. I often need to turn right off a road of 80kmh (the speed for when the rule kicks in), and the amount of dickheads that think it's their right to sit up my arse is unbelievable.

A touch of the brakes usually gets them to back off....

morons

Sorry Bulldog but two wrongs do not make a right. Surely the safe response to a motorist hogging the right-hand lane is to back off and keep a safe distance?

Agree with this. Sitting up someones arse flashing your lights and banging on the steering wheel in rage doesn't solve it.

So many people use this hypothetical "driving slow in the right hand lane" which in my experience rarely happens in non peak hour traffic, what I've seen more of is people who seem to think 100kmh in the right hand lane is a minimum speed and they're getting upset that they want to overtake you to go faster than the speed limit. As long as I'm overtaking cars that are in the left hand lane then people behind me who want to speed can suck it up.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

sorry i know this is off the topic but ...

maybe i worded it wrong. I dont tailgate like you are all stating in a bad or unsafe way. i keep a distance and do flash lights when someone can clearly see they are in the right hand lane and oing the incorrect thing. i undertsand sitting on someones arse can cause accidents or even a fatal accident. im not that stupid.

But still you all seem to think that sitting in the right hand lane UNDER the speed limit is the correct thing to do, it is not. The correct thing to do is for the person that is breaking the law (Keeping in the right hand lane is breaking the law) is for this or these people to move over. SO be it if that person wants to take off after they have passed this person breaking the law. Its their or my problem not yours when they or me get a speeding fine (which i have had once when i was 18 and now 31).

The fact is that people that sit in the right hand lane when they get a chance to move over take off or speed up to the correct speed to annoy everyone. What is backing off to a safe distance more so going to do for these people that sit in the right hand lane??? Nothing because the people doing this will continue to sit there in the right hand lane.
I could go off on this for hours but the rule states ........Keep Left Unless overtaking....Which 95% of people dont do. This is a road rule and looses 2 dermerit points and a fine up here in QLD.
