That's where we agree to disagree.
If NSL clubs had made loses like the A-League clubs had they wouldn't have lasted 3 years let alone over 25 years.
Produced a lot more higher standard players and was a higher standard comp too.
Its amazing what a bit of razzamatazz and marketing will do but its no suprise seeing as how well the AFL goes.

How's that bridge coming along mate? :D

Hey!, spare a thought for me. I live 5 minutes from the stupid thing, pass it
on the way to work and can see from my office on the 25th floor of the Rialto.
Idiots.
Why can't Australian soccer fans behave like Australian SPORTS fans and not like
English/Greek/Serb/insert dickhead minority here, fans? :-k
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

dont belive a word the Advertiser says, the Tards were all pretty much ok, 2 arrests at the game and its front page news, not one mention of the 17 @ the cricket though, (and 6 more @ the cathedral later on)
Wonder if they will print the picture of me and a couple of other Adelaide supporters drinking with a large group of Melbourne supporters the night before the match?

I don't recall South Melbourne pulling 50,000 punters.

There may be a United protest with Both the Adelaide and Victory supporters @ the Dome this week, due to the fact this stuff is just such utter crap.

oh yes the media always love beating up a story relating to any incident at the football(soccer)

no metion of the brawl at the cricket friday behind the members.

yes sammy u know when the media are trying to bring down the world game....

yes there is passion at a football(soccer) game but u still see fights at SANFL games, AFL games etc

the only fight u see at a redbacks game is the ppl wanting to escape

I missed the story which I gather was in yesterdays paper and referred to violence at the game? (judging by some of the comments on AA last night)

I'm not sure how badly it was written up (if the above was indeed the case), but there was definitely several punches thrown, some which connected and some which didn't, but there was every chance it would have gotten out of hand IMHO if not for the excellent work of the coppers on their GG's..

somthing similar to what Melbourne did earlier in the Season, but with both Adelaide and Melbourne supporters, even though we hate each other.

Er, I live there.... mate. In Richmond, actually, where we have an extremely healthy Greek population.

I've only been to one Victory game (v Sydney - 45,000), but there was a healthy cross-section of society there.

Of course, one could also caricaturise Aussie Rules matches as being full of redneck Aussie bogans but it wouldn't get a run on the front of the xenophobic Murdoch media.
