If you think beating Morphy Parks is some kind of indicator, then you better whack some salad on your allbeef pattie.
There are alot better sides in Sect. 1 than us.

As Barn said, good first post. Should also be your last. ;)

i doubt that what beef said is a true indication of what the rest of them think, i hope it is because then they will most definitely not go thru undefeated as the comp is pretty even atm. i put wyc, keswick, ana and the 2 coros as very solid sides. wherever cove go remains to be seen.

Go through undefeated but lose the semi maybe!

Nah all seriousness it's very hard to go through undefeated in section 1! I would highly doubt it would happen but it's a chance since they won their first game

ALLBEEF PATTY does not speak for the cove cricket club we are taking each game as it comes it sure is good not to play the same team over and over again like the SCA even though it would be good to beat morphy parks again :D just kidding MOE

Went down to Morphy's Sat as a neutrel observer and walked away thinking two things and having a third reaffirmed. Firstly Cove were very very impressive and only big headedness or having a very long tail ( as i can't comment on the middle to lower order) will see them lose a game this season. Really enjoyed watching the number three .... know nothing about him but he had one of the best techniques i've seen around this comp for a number of years.

Secondly, yes Morphy's were average but as Caleb mentioned the comp is very even and you can put a number of sides in this category with only a couple exceptions. Think they had a few out so hopefully they will get them back otherwise it will be a very long year.

Thirdly, the majority of bowlers don't make very good captains ...... I know it was late in the innings but to come in and bowl with 5 men on the leg side all on the boundry made no sense at all and then when he did put a mid wicket in he was in the direct path of the deep mid wicket. Just a very hard gig to try and gauge where the field is while bowling, maybe needs some help from behind the wicket .

Caleb - straight home to get on the forum? Maybe stick around for a BBQ in a fortnight instead?

Tony Fromene has informed us that the umpires are 2 short this round and the WYC v Ramblers match will be one of the games without an umpire. I know I'm biased here, but this game should be the first to have an umpire. I wouldn't call it a friendly rivalry at times. Stupid decision.

Really? So what happens come Hewitt medal time?
I may ring Andrew Wright tomorrow and find out what he is doing and if he can fill In for the game! You ok with that AF?

That really is a joke we don't have an umpire for Section 1 cricket! Ohwell I know this will be the only time il walk for the year now if I have a team mate umpiring! I would like to think all 22 blokes will do that if we don't have an umpire!!

I spoke to Tony Fromene last night, Both Hoppy and JC might have to do the votes, He said because he wont be there he wouldnt be the best judge to do the votes.

Well good luck I say to try and figure that out!

So there's only 4 umpires this week?
