As 4 the discussions mooted about the 2nd best ever batter
Greg Chappell. Allan Border, Graeme Pollock, Viv Richards faced better bowlers
Had those guys faced the current bowling attacks they would all average about 65+ instead of 55 +

Not forgetting Barry Richards.
In the late early 70's the best team in world cricket wasn't allowed to play.
2 Pollocks, richards, Barlow, Proctor.......a class side.

The race to 200 is on. Tendulkar v Hauritz. The little master might just pip him.
Ps what is most runs any bowler gone for? Hauritz could get 250+ at this rate

Hmmm...what I know about Chuck is that he was a notorious womaniser, married a Tatts heiress and ended up sleeping on park benches.
What that reveals is that I am a cricket nerd, what your stat reveals is that you are not a retard but, in fact, Rainman.

The first test thread had a coupla fellas sticking up for Haury  Id rather talk up the Mike Tyson ballet society. HAURITZ MUST GO  They dropped Krezja allegedly for his lack of economy in one test in Perth after getting 8 for in an innings in his first test
Here is my list of better spinners than Hauritz and more specifically players id rather see in the team before that dudd
1. Steve Smith
2. Jason Krezja
3. Xavier Doherty
4. Cameron White (What he doesnt spin it? Does NH?)
5. Beau Casson
6. Bryce Mcgain
7. Andrew Symonds
8. Shane Warne
9. Tim May
10. Bob Holland

I'm guessing it was the match in which Bradman injured an ankle, bowling.

Signature anyone ?

Rik E Boy wrote:Hauritz is improving all the time. I'd hardly put Hauritz in the 'overrated' category. He is earning his stripes. Most perceptive Cricket watchers understand we aren't looking at Warnie here. People are starting to rate Hauritz because he has shown improvement, therefore he is not overrated. How do we know he has improved? Well you said so yourself, he has just taken his first 5 for.

I was one of those defending Hauritz. While your list clearly wasn't meant to be taken seriosuly I freely admit Hauritz has bolwed poorly in this Test. Reading between the lines I think Ponting might be giving the selector's (sorry they call themselves the NSP these days) an out to drop Hauritz ahead of the Ashes especially after North's spot saving knock. That's the only reason I can come up with bowling Hauritz into the ground when he (and the pitch) weren't doing anything.

From reading that id suggest REB is in fact Nathan Hauritz. Talks about his 1 five for yet forgets to mention thats the test that is under intense scrutiny for match fixing
Bottom line is if NH plays in the Ashes we are gonna find it very hard to take 20 wickets on enough occasions to win back the urn.
