I'm planning on sneaking out for a look Smasha, but you'll be over at Fitzroy mate and my mob will be over at Adel Luth. ;) Not sure what's been communicated to the Clubs, but apparently Adel Luth opposed the early start, so we'll have to do the C&CCA final on a Sunday sometime, with Saturday's match between PV & AL commencing around 2pm.

Summary of the rules from SAMCA themselves, and yes, it's expected that a 30 yard circle be marked on the participating ovals. ;)

TWENTY/20 MATCHES – METROPOLITAN AND COUNTRY KNOCKOUT COMPETITION

Summary
The rules of the competition are detailed in this document. The following is provided as a quick overview:-

• 20 overs per team
• Maximum of four overs per bowler
• Overs are to be bowled in five over blocks alternating from each end
• There will be free hits after front foot no balls
• Ovals should be marked with a fielding circle (27.4m)
• The size of the boundary is up to the discretion of the host club/association
• Only two fielders are allowed outside the fielding restriction circle for the first 6 overs of an innings
• From the 7th over onwards, teams are allowed a maximum of five fielders outside the fielding restriction circle
• There is no requirement for stationary fielders (catching men) at any stage
• Tied matches will be decided by a One1 Eliminator

The match will need to be arranged between the two competing finalists. Fully agree mate, it would've been a great day of cricket, but alas it is not to be. :( Hopefully it's a bit better organised next year and the Assoc advise the Clubs of the programmed format early so that they can make arrangements to field their best side possible.

Just a quick poll....how many openers will NEK employ to see off the new ball before Smasha comes in?

My predictions are Vi$ta over Adelaide and Fitzies (somehow) over NEK, tho im sure NEK will start overwhelming favs.

We have re-drawn our oval to try and negate Smasha's influlence. This is what it will look like for this weeks T20.

yeah the oval should be just about big enough...... my money is on Smasha to open the batting and take advantage of the fielding restrictions !!

Take bets for a first ball duck ? or quick 100 ? :D

yeah, ya mum, i can't afford the $5.95 per min she charges!    (just jokes dutchy)

in all seriousness though, being a small club and not having affiliations with footy clubs etc to draw players from we have to do what we have to do. We have only spoken to a couple of people this season. I'm sure other clubs have been on the blower trying to get players.
