Hopefully for the Hornets they haven't lost that quality slow bowler Shaun O'Connor. Wicket taker, great fielder, potential galor with the bat and all round good guy. They need him to have any chance of a promotion to A1.

Have you seen any Hornets games lately Masha??

I did see some action in a game last year (PDCA heat rule stopped us playing) an O'Connor was handy, plus a game vs Port Districts a couple years back when this Shaun fella got spanked everywhere. Must have been an off match.

On a side note, the Lodge played Modbury in a 20/20 match yesterday, and apparently (anyone from Modbury can confirm or deny) they have lost a few quality players. Could struggle to stay in A2 this year.

Modbury are in serious trouble. Will be in A3s in 2011/12 season.

Who have they lost?

I dont think they have lost any as such but havent gained anyone. They are an average squad with minimal depth but seem to get results last year. They rely on Hiscock and Aiden Wilkins majorly and 2 blokes arent going to win you many games in A2.

Sorry guys it was only second hand info. Apparently you lost your captain from last year (retired??) and lost a couple of guns as well. Names weren't given so not entirely sure. I guess you would be in the know footy smart so I guess my source was talking garbage.

I am around Modbury but dont play cricket there.

Scott Roberts isnt playing anymore just coaching and i know he has been working hard on getting a few new blokes, but i think they are trying to get the team to improve as a group and have some pressure coming from the 2s.

Like i said they will rely on Dylan Hiscock and Aiden Wilkins for both their runs and wickets.

Looking forward to the new season.

hopefully the a's can have another good season. Be nice to even go another step .... or 2!!

Which grade do you play in Bogan?

I played both last season.
I played about 5 -6 games for the A Grade & the rest for the B Grade.

Cant wait for us to actually start training.....

hmmmm... got me curious as to who you are. I have my suspicions ;) Looking to play a few more a-grade games this year?

Hopefully the b's can pick up a few extra wins this year to keep everyone keen.

I play where I'm selected, but I'm really not LOA quality :P

Me, silky and skills don't go together, you know that. I will be playing turf next year, when Brahma Lodge make an entrance into Adelaide Turf. So I guess we will start out at B2-B3??? Might play against the Hills B grade....get sledged by Rick Battersby and Chris Scott. Ah the good days.

How are AHOS looking Rainbow Warrrior? Heard there has been an influx of Sri Lankans to the club? Any up to A1 standard apart from Doon and Tilly?

Gday mate. Nice to hear from you. Hope all is well.

Yes a lot of Sri Lankans and quite a few of them look to be able to play. THere is one left hander who can bat and bowl's Jayasuriya spin who we wthink is going to be excellent although he cant play this week. A few other Sri Lankans are decent although think they want to play with each other. Many have a great deal of potential.

Also a very good quick bowler who knows Stoker rocked up out of the blue last night and will start in the Bs but am comfortable in saying he will be in the A's in no time. Looked very good. See how he goes in the B's.

We'll be alright, only blokes we lost are yourself and Ozzy and have a few early injuries but got Jimmy Rankin back too so should be an interesting season. I am backing us in early and think we will do well. Few schoolboys in the 2's too (Chiller and his mate) who have potential as well.

Good luck for you for this week too, look forward to catching up some time and see how all is going in your ventures.

Sounds good for the Hunter then mate. Might swing through on Sat for a look on the way back from Southerns. From what I know Masha there is buckley's of Wazza pullin on the boots this season.
Having said that, if the boys are struggling and RW gets 15 bourbons into him.....stranger things have happened ;)
