Matt Cuconits back at IF this season i hear? dissapointing for TTG as he would have got a crack at A grade level possibly late in the year if his development from last season continued.

Matty is a fantastic young lad and my discussions with him clearly spelt to him the disappointment about him throwing away what he has earnt and deserved at club and underage state level.
However he was very clear in that he had lost motivation to play and train at that level with that sort of pressure.
17 year olds are pretty complex at times and at the end of it all the main point was that Matty continues to play cricket, as one of his real considerations was to give it away all together.
I really hope he just starts to enjoy cricket again, and if so I am sure you will see him return at some point if TTG desire.
If this was something he decided during the season, he would go with our blessing...

Why would they wait until later in the year to give him a game anyway? Should be replacing some bats straight up.

Matt was offered 3 or so A grade games at the end of last season to aid his development 3 games, no pressure, go out and learn. However he thought he wasnt up to it in his own mind. Matt isnt an overly confident kid and it would have taken him a few scores this coming season to relieve some pressure and he may take the opportunity.

unfortunatly he has chosen to leave. Very disapointing from our point of view and the states, however wish him well and would welcome him back any time

The fact he stays playing cricket is the important thing, what level he plays at will/may change over time.

I hope fo him and IF he dominates

Struggle on the weekend guys? How many recriuts stayed from last year?
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

Yeah, Reynella were red hot and have set a very high benchmark. They won the toss and dobbed us. Pitch had a bit early and after losing both openers very cheaply we fought back to be in a position to put up a competitive score, but then lost 7/18. IMO Reynella had the best attack in A2 last year and and same applies this year. They have added 3 quality bats (Riley, Viney & Dedicoat) which make them a pretty solid outfit. Will be hard to beat.

Is John Hopkins playing at Reynella still? He played State second 11 like me.

Hoppy is still playing...an absolute superstar and cracking bloke.

Good to see the old boy Kev Riley in the runs in his comeback game.

No Chrissy this year ?

How can you be so sure? I could be playing cricket at your club this year.
