I felt threatened for all of the second quarter.
Brilliant game, great result. What's to feel threatened about?
Good bump by Callinan, unfortunate result.
I'm going to enjoy the summer and hope that we recruit well enough to cover whatever losses occur.
No reason to feel threatened. Plenty to feel hopeful.

Ahhh i love the summer, hot weather, daylight savings and sitting back reflecting on another premiership ALL SUMMER LONG.

Tough love hell yeah, no way should Callinan send a message to apologise was more my point,

It a sporting contest FFS, if the roles were reseversed what would you have preffered Phillips to do, im sure he would of taking his chance.

I had my jaw broken by a quick with his 3rd bouncer in a row. I tried pulling it, i missed it, it smashed my jaw. Did i wont him messaging me with apologies or sending me flowers or bringing me around pancakes, no f**king way. Have i ever been hit by a bouncer again, hell no i get out the way of the bloody every single time and im alot better batsmen because of that.

Story is Phillips lacked awareness was hit by a fair but extremly hard bump he was injured, next season im very very very sure he will protect himself alot better from these situations, bad luck.

The injured players i feel sorry for are blokes like Danny Morton, Chad O'Sullivan and Logan Hilll blokes whose injuries were of no fault of their, just a piece of bad luck.

The only bit of umpiring that shits me is the delibarate out of bounds. Saw about 10 that could have gone to both sides. It is one of the most softest, cowardly things on the field when are these idiots going to start paying them.

Shane Harris, the umpire boss, told Mark Soderstrom (ABC Commentator - by the way, well done Soders on the call, first one in about 8 years) that AS LONG as the player is trying to gain ground for his side, whether it be 1 metre or 40, itr is not deliberate. He did say that it would be reviewed for next year, as most things are, and could change next year?

Even that has its faults BP, because if a player is five yards clear and only gain five it is far more deliberate than if they are a yard off being tackled.

Yeah, look, I agree there are some obvious DOOB that DON'T get paid at our level that probably should. I'm just posting what the umpires boss said. I reckon we will see this paid a fair bit more next year with the SANFL taking a more AFL like interpretation of the rule.

On the lower right hand side of the ABC page above, there is a video link you click on and it shows about 2 minutes of footage (the news Report from the night) of the game.

The Callinan shepherd on Phillips is at about the 1.14min mark...

Photographic evidence suggests Callinan's actions were deliberate, Gowan brothers need to play on next year to protect the little shite, but he will have his day and when it comes just remember, what comes around goes around

I dont think anyone would have to many probs with this post as its missing the 2 classes comments that your earlier post contained (Soup+Text) . Im not exactly sure how relevant the cricket metaphor is though. Being a Port supporter there has been plenty of times in my life that i have been embarrassed and ashamed of PAFC fans verbal antics.
Well done to the CENTRALS SUPPORTER THAT HAD A GO AT YOU. One of the main reasons CDFC have won 9 of 11 is professionalism.

IF accidental, then still surely a free kick.

Wonder if Callinan will have the good grace to at least send Flip a text saying sorry, somehow I feel not!

With all due respect Fester, if you don't know Callinan personally, I don't think passing judgement on someones character and ability to apologise is very fair.

He may have already been in touch with Flipper, he may not make contact at all, whether he does or doesn't do this is up to his judgement but to make comment on what he will or wont do isn't very fair.

I dont know him personally but I know for a FACT no contact has been made with Flipper.
Judging by his comments on 5AA " saw an opportunity to take him out", I still doubt there will be!
Just wish we had some hard ar5es in our side to dish this crap back out.
In the end winners are grinners and the rest of us can please ourselves.

You've put it in quotes Fester is that because that''s what he said, or are you making that statement? Somehow I don't think you're a fair judge.
Don't worry Campbell did alright. Boydy thanked the Dr for pulling his perforated lip back over his teeth (we wont mention the leg fracture).
I'm sure Flipper wouldn't be expecting any text messages or the like, knowing it's a contact sport and you're allowed to bump.

Seriously GET OVER IT. There was no malice in the bump at all. He saw the opporunity to protect his team mate and took it.

If Phillips hadn't broken his jaw we wouldn't even be talking about this right now. A bump should not be judged on the injury it causes.

The Gowans are in the studio with Cornsey and Rowey tonight, should make for some good radio!

Off cause they were FFS, he didnt mean to tickle him

Maybe if someone had taken Callinan out when they had the chance Norwood may have won the game.

Thats a big hit.
Bit off the ball as there was another player closer to the ball carrier.
So yes that is dirty.
But that's footy isn't it.

Interestingly Boyd goes on to play with a broken leg, Phillips is sidelined for the rest of the game with a broken jaw.
