Selectively frozen image there Dutchy, it's pretty clear Duigan made NO attempt for about 10 seconds before Callinan had his hand on the ball.
Sorry Phil, but I'm with Dutchy on this one, for one very simple part of the interpretation of the rule - no prior opportunity. Duigan initially handballs it to Georigou and gets it back under pressure. He has barely completed a step before being tackled, well and fairly, by Callinan. No prior opportunity to dispose of the ball properly. A ball up would have been the correct call. In fairness, Sutherland has a mark that should have been paid about a minute prior, but punched out of his hands.

IF accidental, then still surely a free kick.
Wonder if Callinan will have the good grace to at least send Flip a text saying sorry, somehow I feel not!

Well, he must have played alright in Roy Laird's eyes as he was awarded 4th Best back at the club presentations.

Serious? That's outragous! Esp. after his flat footed attempts at just about every kick in after the opposition scored a behind. As a neutral, I thought he was ordinary. Maybe Roy just likes "big boys"?
Who were 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th?

They didn't announce a 5th Best, it went:
4th Best - Jason Mackenzie
3rd Best - Heath Lawry
2nd Best - Paul Thomas
1st Best - Ian Callinan
With all due respect to you Purch, I'd take Roy Laird's judgement over you any day of the week. Roy made mention it is the voice, leadership and off the ball things that Bucket's does week in week out anyway, but at important times in the GF, that saw him get 4th best.

Agree that was a shocker, and the ump could clearly see Callinan was holding the ball under the Norwood player.
Question regarding the celebrations at HHO, why dont they hold them on the Oval?

With all due respect Fester, if you don't know Callinan personally, I don't think passing judgement on someones character and ability to apologise is very fair.
He may have already been in touch with Flipper, he may not make contact at all, whether he does or doesn't do this is up to his judgement but to make comment on what he will or wont do isn't very fair.

FWIW, Puopolo took the game on more than any other man on the field...
p.s. did Norwood get any soft free kicks in front of goal last week? It does seem to be a running theme for you, and I'm not the only one who has noticed...

Is there anything you dont question about the CDFC.

I dont know him personally but I know for a FACT no contact has been made with Flipper.
Judging by his comments on 5AA " saw an opportunity to take him out", I still doubt there will be!
Just wish we had some hard ar5es in our side to dish this crap back out.
In the end winners are grinners and the rest of us can please ourselves.
