Yep, and Centrals fans running around trying to mark bottles of bundy is a recepe for disaster

Selectively frozen image there Dutchy, it's pretty clear Duigan made NO attempt for about 10 seconds before Callinan had his hand on the ball.

Sorry Phil, but I'm with Dutchy on this one, for one very simple part of the interpretation of the rule - no prior opportunity. Duigan initially handballs it to Georigou and gets it back under pressure. He has barely completed a step before being tackled, well and fairly, by Callinan. No prior opportunity to dispose of the ball properly. A ball up would have been the correct call. In fairness, Sutherland has a mark that should have been paid about a minute prior, but punched out of his hands.

Agreed CK. One of the only poor decisions of the game IMO...except for the bloody goal umpire saying that Timmy's last kick in league footy hit the post!

No need to apologise CK, everyone has their own opinion and at the end of the day we are not all going to agree with each other, that is the nature of the beast. At the end of the day a decision was made, whether it be technically right or wrong, which we all have to live with. As you said, there were a few other decisions or non-decisions both ways that were / were not paid for both sides, including the head high, frontal contact to Daniel Havelberg by the man in question, Nick Duigan.

Wonder if Callinan will have the good grace to at least send Flip a text saying sorry, somehow I feel not!

With all due respect Fester, if you don't know Callinan personally, I don't think passing judgement on someones character and ability to apologise is very fair.

He may have already been in touch with Flipper, he may not make contact at all, whether he does or doesn't do this is up to his judgement but to make comment on what he will or wont do isn't very fair.

Well, he must have played alright in Roy Laird's eyes as he was awarded 4th Best back at the club presentations.

Serious? That's outragous! Esp. after his flat footed attempts at just about every kick in after the opposition scored a behind. As a neutral, I thought he was ordinary. Maybe Roy just likes "big boys"?

Who were 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th?

They didn't announce a 5th Best, it went:

4th Best - Jason Mackenzie
3rd Best - Heath Lawry
2nd Best - Paul Thomas
1st Best - Ian Callinan

With all due respect to you Purch, I'd take Roy Laird's judgement over you any day of the week. Roy made mention it is the voice, leadership and off the ball things that Bucket's does week in week out anyway, but at important times in the GF, that saw him get 4th best.

Ask Buckets yourself and he will tell you he never gets off the ground anyway so he is always 'flat footed', he is 110kg mate ;)

Considering even the umpires said at the chimney it was a fair hit, I can't see the report holding up.

Will all due respects BP I'll take my view of what I saw over anyones', (esp.) including Centrals supporting commentators:

1 Callinan
2 Spurr
3 Goodrem
4 Lawry
5 Thomas

...Hayes unlucky to miss out for his wonderful second half..Buckets...nowhere to be seen

FWIW, Puopolo took the game on more than any other man on the field...

p.s. did Norwood get any soft free kicks in front of goal last week? It does seem to be a running theme for you, and I'm not the only one who has noticed...

Agree that was a shocker, and the ump could clearly see Callinan was holding the ball under the Norwood player.

Question regarding the celebrations at HHO, why dont they hold them on the Oval?

Is there anything you dont question about the CDFC.

I dont know him personally but I know for a FACT no contact has been made with Flipper.
Judging by his comments on 5AA " saw an opportunity to take him out", I still doubt there will be!
Just wish we had some hard ar5es in our side to dish this crap back out.

Fair enough, each to there own I guess, your entitled to your opinion as I am to mine...

I agree that Puopolo was fantastic, I really enjoy watching him play...

As for the free kicks comments, or running theme mate, you've lost me. I've made comment on a couple of decisions yes, as has a lot of other people, but anyway, who cares...

I thought the umpiring was excellent in general, maybe missed a couple of decisions, but all in all were consistently good, not just through the finals, but all year.

I hope Phillips enjoys soup, bad luck mate next time i hope Phillips learns abit of awareness. Just as much Phillips fault as Callinan.

If i was Callinan i would be texting 'winners are grinners, phillips cant'

Ahhh i love the summer, hot weather, daylight savings and sitting back reflecting on another premiership ALL SUMMER LONG.

Didn't hear this myself but was that what was exactly said Fester?

May have been taken out of context - as in he saw the opportunity to take him out of the contest with a shepherd? Don't know, as I said, didn't hear the comments. At the end of the day, Callinan has been cited and will face the tribunal so I guess we will wait and see the on outcome of that.

Not sure that Callinan would be in any state from about Sunday night through to tomorrow with the alcoholic consumption through various celebrations being attended - after party, brewery, players back at the Sussex Hotel (club sponsor) tonight - so perhaps in the coming days Ian may attempt to contact Flipper, who knows?

Time will tell as well on that wont it...

Who cares if Callinan did mean to take Phillips out,

If he did he will be suspended and pay for his crime otherwise he got him a beauty, phillips couldnt come back on and that possibly had alot to do with us winning another premiership
