There's reports England and Canada are set to withdraw completely from the games, and Scotland's already delayed their arrival to Delhi.

If they do, I'd expect Australia and New Zealand to follow, meaning the games will pretty much disintegrate. However, the swimmers may not necessarily get a 2 week holiday with a 4 nations swim meet between Australia, New Zealand, England and Canada possibly going ahead in lieu of the games should they pull out.

The news last night was that the England hockey and lawn bowls (iirc) teams are still flying out today.

A couple of pictures of the bathrooms here...yuck

Not sure why they're all acting so shocked. I was more shocked that India got the gig in the first place...not exactly famed for it's high quality building standards :?

There generally is always concerns about readiness for all these major sporting events but this time i think the concern is real. I bet the people in charge are really wishing right now they changed there decision.

And the crowds have been flocking to the games

Reckon I saw 5 people tops at the netball (Australia d Samoa 76-39). Hockey has about 25 people, and I can't see anyone at the tennis!

Nick Darcy has failed to qualify for the 200m butterfly!

Never fear though, we've dominated qualifying in most heats (including the other reps in the 200m butterfly)

Massive crowd attending the Australia vs Samoa netball game right now on Ten/OneHD.

Surely in a country with a population of 1.2 billion people you could get more than just family and friends watching the world champion team. It looks like they might need to borrow a few tarpaulins from AAMI Stadium.

That game's on delay on Ten so I won't spoil that score

However in the current live match on Foxtel, half time (yes, half time) New Zealand are beating Papua New Guinea 57-12!

PNG should be grateful there's 4 people in attendance watching the game

Looks like lawn bowls have got the biggest crowd so far of 30

Don't be too harsh ... about a billion or so are still cleaning up the athlete's village as we speak.

So did anyone pull out in the end?

Not necessarily countries, but even just athletes choosing not to take the "death before dishonour" card?

From an Australian viewpoint, Dani Samuels (world champion discus thrower) pulled out about two weeks ago. I did hear that two other Australians pulled out late last week due to "injury", but it may have been more a case of protecting against potential injury.

Swimming centre starting to fall apart now - the 4 x 100 mens relay final was delayed while officials cleared debris from the pool!

India should be banned from hosting any international event in future they clearly have no idea how to run things safely.

For the record Australia won (and regained the Games record), with England second and South Africa third.
