Norwood did the Eagles a favour by winning the Preliminary with the last kick.
It would have been more devastating for us to lose to Centrals by just 1 goal as you have.
But like the other clubs before you it is your turn to feel the pain.
Centrals domination cannot go on forever, or can it?

In the name of true Socialist tradition (pay attention R&B), can I boldly suggest that the 'other' 8 SANFL clubs call an urgent Football Summit to talk about how they can break this seemingly never ending Bulldog run.

The Summit will be attended by 1000 distinguished SANFL dignitaries and facilitated by Max Basheer to provide the necessary thought leadership which has somehow disappeared in the past 11 years.

Yes, this will be a waste of time wankfest with no outcomes but nothing else that anyone else has come up with has worked either. Any other ideas? :-??

Nice blanket statement there :?

Brucetiki wrote:Very interesting how many so-called Norwood supporters have either only joined SAFooty this year or have very few posts (under 500). These are very easy to pick ...
Yes but you have to be educated like you to pick it...So, let me get this right. It is obviously very important that if you are a true Norwood supporter (or a supporter of any other club for that matter) that you MUST visit this website and post frequently...it's all about quantity. About 20 posts per week minimum please...If you do then you clearly are a real supporter, if you don't then you are just a bandwagoner and you don't really know anything about SANFL football.

Brucetiki wrote:It's sad that most Norwood supporters have to resort to the lowest of the low name calling to make themselves feel better.
Lucky you, to know "most Norwood supporters". No, what's sad is that you can only cite one example in support of your argument. Another couple of thousand examples should do it. Thanking you in advance...

No whinging here mate. I love the rough stuff. Callinans hit was fine and although it broke his jaw i thought it was a great bump. We should have responded with some hardness. Guys like rowey are built like brick s?!!!houses pulled out a couple of times when they could have put Players out of action.

Well done to Centrals in winning yesterday and what a great match to advertise SANFL football.
The crowd was fantastic and must say the majority of Central supporters were very humble and not overpowering with there win bar a few young teenagers who probally had drunk to much and let fly words we have all heard before and their actions were uncalled for. I would suggest they are not true football fans and jump on the Central bandwagon during the finals.
There was little doubt number5 for Centrals was best on ground and deserved the medal.
An interesting fact is that he almost came to Norwood to join one of his Tassie mates Andrew Hill who was playing for Norwood at that time but Norwood due to their financial woes and the time they took to present him with a contract were outbid and beaten to the post by Centrals. The rest is history.
I am not being sour grapes and have umpired football at all levels for 35 years but i believe the knock which took Phillips out of the game was illegal as players must make the BALL their target. Watch how ruckmen get penalised for blocking and taking their eyes of the ball and players get frees for frontal attacks. Leigh Haussen the non officiating umpire had a clear view of the incident and i believe that was the only mistake he made all day.
43 year old Richard Williams was also very good in his last match and Gary Fila was the only umpire who payed an "under the pack" holding the ball all match which gifted Callihan his first goal and was the resultant winning margin.
Funny game football with its twists and turns and once again well done Centrals { a great club} and a very brave effort by a young Norwood team who showed great endeavour.

Obviously so so proud of my boys, but just plain gutted.

A few Dogs fans must have seen that after the game and made their way over to offer their commiserations .. Obviously doesnt make you feel any better at the time, but they all showed great respect and humility and I more than appreciate the gesture.

The best compliment I can offer the Dogs is that I want our club to be like yours, in every respect .. Congrats on your win, you guys are awesome.

Hope this burning feeling lasts at the Parade and helps us deliver bigger and better things.

Agree with you there johna when the ball is in dispute and two players from opposing sides are going at the ball...

In the Callinan v Phillips scenario yesterday, Callinan was applying a shepperd (within 5 metres) to allow a team-mate, in possession of the ball, space to run and carry.

well done to centrals yesterday, it was a very entertaining game of football to watch as a neutral supporter. Big kudos to both Norwood and Centrals supporter to attend the game, to have under 35,000 to the game is good for SANFL footy. The bump on Phillips was a good bump, it happened right in front of me and thought it was fine.

i had the good opportunity to chat to some centrals supporters after the game who also agreed that the game was a good one but of course to close to handle. I envey what they do at Centrals with the sucess they have and the winning culture of finals and Grand Finals. A person that should take some credit for this is Alan Stewart who when coaching the club, decided that some things needed to change and then in 2000 they recruited the players that they wanted and the rest is history.

We may not have won yesterdays game, but we have done what the other 5 teams have not done and that is provide centrals a contest, and we were the only team that was going to make a game of it against them. I believe we did step up yesterday we were one kick away from a drawn Grand final. Tim hits the post and makes it 6 points instead of 1 a centre clearance and who knows. STill the best grand final in 11 years even though we lost, not that i ain't shattered. (I know sturt and eagles have beaten them but thay were still one sided grand finals).

Majority of central fans great. Live up north and being a lone legs supporter on a train full of dogs fans was good fun. Heaps of chat and banter. Believe me all clubs have d@$?head supporters. We must not accept defeat easily and pat ourselves on back othetwise in 10 years time we will be saying the same thing. We have to step up next year and be meaner and hungrier and i hope to have another crack at them next year

Thank you CDFC for another fantastic finals contest. Saw my first game at Elizabeth in1967 as a 7 yo and have been a staunch supporter ever since. No it does not get boring, just enjoy the moment because it WILL end one day.

To my mates watching the game in Coffin Bay I must sincerely apologise for ringing you immediately after the game to share my enjoyment of another flag. Didnt realise that the game wasnt live on ABC and there was still 8 minutes to go. Whoops.
