Talking Boony

Postby zipzap » Mon Jan 15, 2007 11:00 pm

Anyone got Boony & Beefy? I got a set last week, not by drinking VB either thank God.
They are pretty cool. They seem only to talk when the cricket is on. 5 minutes before it starts they give you a reminder to switch the TV on and fetch a beer.
MY favourite taunt is when Beefy says to Boony "Looks like you've eaten all the pies", to which Boony says "Yeah but at least I didn't bowl 'em".
There seem to be new phrases with each game - pretty freaky technology.

CUB should've also made a 'Talking Hadlee' for this current One Day Series.
He can say things like "Don't call me a wanker!"
Or start whinging about Trevor Chappell's infamous underarm delivery...
Something to this very day, Kiwis STILL go on about!

Yeah but why does Beefy sound like an Aussie? Or is the ad misleading?

You can buy them on the Boonanza website (pretty expensive) or you can get them cheaper on a certain auction site that I'm not going to mention cos they're a bunch of cnuts!

You don't have to have the sound up on your tv to hear them do you? Might interrupt my Hottest 100 listening.

Also - you can buy them from pubs now. I got mine from the Loxton bottleo for $13.

I don't think the TV affects them at all - I think everything must be pre programmed to be triggered on certain dates. for instance, they were chattering all though the Adelaide game the other day even though it wasn't on TV. I was actually watching Rocky when Beefy started singing Land of Hope & Glory! lol

I paid about that for mine too. Seems like not many people were willing to drink VD to get the little fellas. How is Loxton anyway? I lived there (on Santa's Walk no less) up until I moved back to the city 3 or 4 years ago. Best pizza bar ever :)
