On the money there REB - I think Ian Chappell has a very good point.. bring back Australia A and give the Aussies a bit of a challenge...
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

In what I've seen today I'd agree with you. Tait and Gillespie would have no trouble getting wickets against that mob.

Nah, the trouvle with the Australia A concept is everyone supports them instead of the main Australian team.

Gilchrist is starting to play tonk a pom.

They should give the crowd their money's worth and throw on a 20/20 game after this one.

Ah, thank you Heals ... anything under the elbow is out. I thought it had to be part of the glove :)

No idea why Nixon has to run past the stumps and them bring the arm back like he does.

You can put that dismissal of Gilchrist down to Hayden and his "self preservation" mode of batting that he's in at the moment. The silly part of it though is that he won't hold his spot by scoring 3 runs off 20 balls.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Hayden had to got back and ground his bat in case Flintoff defected it onto the stumps. By the time he did that. the run was no longer an option. I think it's one of the rare times when a run out isn't really anyone's fault.

Apparently it's a theory of Bob Woolmers but it's a ridiculous one at best as it prevents direct hit run outs and most of the time they end up "doing a Mullaly" and screwing it up when it would have hit the stumps anyway.

Thanks for that. Some contemporary theories in sport mystify me. :)

A policeman caught a member of the Balmy Army climbing over the Adelaide
Oval fence today.
The policeman told the BA man to climb back over and watch the rest of the game.

So what? Kylie Minouge concerts are sold out as well, and nobody can work out why.

And the people will be going home early. Gee, old Liam Plunkett looked a good player ... NOT!!!! Haven't England got anyone who can bat?

Of Course they do, but he had to walk down the pitch and injure his ribs batting.

Didn't go myself today but know how you boys feel as today's game was almost an exact replica of the corresponding game against the West Indies in 2001.

I tell ya what...
When England were 5/80 (I was at the game), I said to anyone that would listen, that England would struggle to make 120.
The cricket was that boring that people nearly resorted to violence against each other.

Do people realise that no English bowler took a wicket today?
I predicted a 10 wicket victory (after England all out 110), I was only 1 wicket out...

$50 to see 59 overs- that's $1.18 per over....
